Role Summary
- Independently execute end-to-end payroll processes for complex countries or employee populations, ensuring accuracy, timeliness, and compliance.
- Review and validate payroll calculations, statutory deductions, and payroll outputs before payroll finalization.
- Act as the primary technical expert and first point of escalation for complex payroll issues.
- Investigate payroll discrepancies, perform root cause analysis, and implement sustainable corrective actions.
- Partner with third-party payroll providers to resolve complex operational and compliance matters.
- Review the quality and accuracy of payroll work completed by team members, providing feedback and recommendations where appropriate.
- Lead payroll process improvements, standardization initiatives, and operational excellence activities.
- Support the Payroll Manager with workload planning, knowledge sharing, onboarding,
and training activities.
- Collaborate with HR, Finance, Time & Attendance, Benefits, and business leaders to resolve cross-functional payroll issues.
- Identify operational risks and recommend actions to improve payroll quality, efficiency, and customer satisfaction.
Experience
- Advanced knowledge of payroll operations, payroll legislation, tax, social security, and compliance requirements.
- Solid understanding of payroll systems, HRIS, and Time & Attendance solutions.
- Typically requires a Bachelor's degree and 5-7 years of payroll experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Demonstrated experience supporting complex, multi-country payroll operations is preferred.
