Area Sales Manager (ASM)

Job Summary:
The Area Sales Manager (ASM) is responsible for driving sales growth, expanding the distribution network, managing distributors and sales executives, achieving business targets, and ensuring strong market presence within the assigned territory. The ASM is also responsible for developing new business opportunities, maintaining retailer relationships, and executing company sales strategies effectively.

Key Responsibilities:Sales & Business Development
- Achieve monthly, quarterly, and annual sales targets.
- Develop and execute sales plans for the assigned territory.
- Identify and appoint new distributors, super stockists, and retailers.
- Expand market coverage and increase product availability.
- Generate current business opportunities and improve market penetration.

Distributor Management
- Appoint and develop distributors.
- Monitor distributor stock, billing, and secondary sales.
- Ensure timely order placement and inventory availability.




- Resolve distributor-related issues and maintain strong business relationships.

Team Management
- Lead, train, and motivate Sales Officers, Sales Executives, and Sales Representatives.
- Conduct regular market visits and joint working with the sales team.
- Monitor team productivity and provide performance feedback.
- Review daily activity reports and market coverage.

Market Development
- Increase product visibility through merchandising and promotional activities.
- Ensure proper product placement at retail outlets.
- Conduct retailer meets, product demonstrations, and sampling activities.
- Monitor competitor activities, pricing, and promotional schemes.

Reporting & Analysis
- Prepare Daily Sales Reports (DSR), Weekly Reports, and Monthly MIS.
- Analyze sales performance and recommend corrective actions.
- Monitor primary sales, secondary sales, and collections.
