Svitla Systems Inc. is looking for a Senior Data Engineer for a full time position (40 hours per week) in Ukraine. Our client creates AI solutions for live and social experiences, allowing users to build interactive apps, rituals, and environments that function in real time across devices.

Every role in the project is dual: a founding platform builder first, with data engineering, analytics, and a model-ready signal edge that shapes the platform. As agents take on more execution, the business needs trusted memory: event streams, analytics, governance, and features that stay fast at scale. You'll build the data layer that the platform learns from.

The stack:Rust/Python, high-volume event streams, large column stores (BigQuery-class), analytics, feature pipelines, SurrealDB/R2, and governance.

REQUIREMENTS:
- 6+ years of experience in data engineering.
- You use AI as part of your own data and engineering loop, not as a side tool.
- Strong knowledge of Rust/Python and a polyglot in backend.




- Understanding of high-volume ingestion and streaming.
- Experience in building analytics or query infrastructure that stayed fast as data grew.
- You care about data that is useful, trusted, permissioned, and fast enough to matter.
- You design systems for analytics, product loops, and model training at once.
- You like turning messy company activity into structure without flattening reality.
- You think in lineage, quality, privacy, and practical leverage.

Nice to have:
- Experience with SurrealDB or similar multi-model / analytical datastores.
- Notable GitHub work or hard side projects.

RESPONSIBILITIES
- Push from logs to living signal: make messy event streams queryable, governable, and model-ready.
- Build ingestion for high-volume telemetry and logs from many sources.
- Optimize storage/retrieval for fast, cost-effective access at scale.
- Implement validation and quality checks to ensure downstream data rema
