Job Summary
The Service Technician is responsible for inspecting, diagnosing, servicing, repairing, and maintaining Maruti Suzuki vehicles according to company standards. The technician works closely with the Service Advisor and workshop team to ensure vehicles are repaired correctly, safely, and within the committed delivery time.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform periodic maintenance and general servicing of Maruti Suzuki vehicles.
- Inspect vehicles and identify mechanical, electrical, and electronic faults.
- Diagnose vehicle problems using appropriate diagnostic tools and equipment.
- Carry out repair and replacement of defective components as required.
- Perform engine, transmission, brake, suspension, steering, and other mechanical system repairs.
- Handle routine maintenance such as engine oil, filters, brake components, battery, belts, and other consumables.
- Perform electrical and electronic system checks and basic troubleshooting.
- Use Maruti Suzuki-recommended tools, equipment, repair procedures, and technical specifications.
- Follow job cards and instructions provided by the Service Advisor.
- Ensure all assigned repair and service jobs are completed within the specified time.
- Conduct quality checks and road tests after completing repairs where required.
- Identify additional repair requirements and communicate them to the Service Advisor.
- Maintain proper care and cleanliness of tools, equipment, and the workshop area.
- Follow workshop safety procedures and use appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE).
- Maintain proper documentation of work performed and parts replaced.
- Ensure replaced parts and materials are handled according to company procedures.
- Work as part of the workshop team to achieve service quality and productivity targets.
