Role & responsibilities
- Design, develop, and implement firmware and IoT solutions for various applications.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate firmware and IoT solutions with other systems.
- Develop and maintain embedded software for IoT devices.
- Troubleshoot and debug firmware and IoT issues.
- Stay up-to-date with the latest advancements in firmware and IoT technologies.
Preferred candidate profile
- More than 9+ years of experience in firmware and IoT development.
- Embedded C/C++ development for microcontroller platforms
- Real-time operating system (RTOS) implementation and optimization
- Device driver development and hardware abstraction layer implementation
- Bluetooth Low Energy (BLE), Wi-Fi, and other wireless protocol implementation
- Power optimization and battery management
- Firmware testing and debugging using JTAG/SWD and logic analyzers
- Over-the-air (OTA) update implementation with rollback and integrity verification
- Hardware bring-up and board support package development
- Firmware signing and integrity verification
- Anti-tamper and anti-rollback protections •
- Familiarity with relevant standards: UL 2900, NIST IoT guidelines, and awareness of FIPS 140-2/3 requirements
- Secure OTA update mechanisms with authenticated and encrypted delivery Required Skills & Experience:
- Robust embedded C/C++ development experience (minimum 5 years for lead roles)
- Experience with ARM Cortex-M or similar microcontroller platforms
- Knowledge of RTOS concepts and implementations (FreeRTOS, ThreadX, Zephyr)
- Experience with communication protocols (SPI, I2C, UART, BLE, Wi-Fi)
- Debugging skills with JTAG/SWD and logic analyzers
- Experience with secure embedded development practices as outlined above
