Job Summary

The Engineering Manager role at Agoda is one of the most significant and challenging roles at the company. The right candidate is both highly hands-on, with solid engineering principles and demonstrates exceptional leadership and people development skills.

We are looking for an Engineering Manager to lead one or more of our engineering teams. This role will focus on building and operating scalable backend platforms and services that support Agoda machine learning capabilities. The ideal candidate will bring strong backend engineering expertise, sound architectural judgment, and a passion for building reliable, high-performing systems. Experience working with machine learning or Large Language Models is a plus, but is not required.

In this Role, you'll get to:
- Stay hands-onby writing and reviewing code, contributing to system design, and providing expert-level coaching and guidance to engineers.
- Lead backend engineering initiatives involving scalable, reliable, and fault-tolerant distributed systems.




- Drive technical directionby making strong architectural decisions and ensuring systems are designed, engineered, and maintained to a high standard.
- Collaborate across disciplineswith Product, Data Science, and other engineering teams to deliver impactful technology solutions.
- Own systems throughout their lifecycle, from design and development to deployment, operation, monitoring, and continuous improvement.
- Promote engineering excellence through automation, effective development practices, operational ownership, and data-driven decision-making.
- Develop people and teams by inspiring engineers, supporting career growth, attracting strong talent, and creating an environment where individuals can achieve their full potential.

What youll Need to Succeed:
