Role & responsibilities
- Achieve monthly, quarterly and annual sales targets.
- Generate current business opportunities in the assigned territory.
- Identify potential customers, dealers, distributors, builders and contractors.
- Develop new markets and expand the company's customer base.
- Follow up on leads and convert them into confirmed orders.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with dealers, distributors, builders, contractors and industrial customers.
- Regularly visit existing customers and understand their requirements.
- Appoint new dealers/distributors where required.
- Handle customer queries, complaints and commercial discussions.
Visit construction sites, infrastructure projects and industrial projects.
- Identify upcoming projects and estimate their steel requirements.
- Develop contacts with purchase managers, contractors, builders, engineers and project decision-makers.
- Track project progress and follow up until order closure.
- Promote and sell products such as TMT Bars, MS Rods, Structural Steel and other steel products.
- Understand product specifications, grades, sizes and applications.
- Provide suitable product information based on customer requirements.
- Prepare quotations and negotiate prices within approved company limits.
- Discuss payment terms and delivery schedules with customers.
- Monitor market prices and competitor pricing.
- Provide regular market feedback to management.
- Coordinate with Accounts, Dispatch and Operations teams for smooth order execution.
- Follow up on pending orders and deliveries.
- Monitor customer outstanding payments and coordinate for timely collection.
- Ensure customer commitments are properly communicated internally.
- Monitor competitor products, prices, schemes and market activities.
- Identify new market opportunities.
- Maintain information about dealers, contractors, builders and projects in the territory.
- Submit regular market reports to management.
- Prepare daily/weekly/monthly sales repo
