A Facility Manager in a school is responsible for ensuring that the entire school campus, infrastructure, utilities, safety systems, and support services function smoothly, safely, and efficiently.

Facility Manager – Key Responsibilities
- Campus & Infrastructure Management
- Maintain school buildings, classrooms, offices, corridors, playgrounds, washrooms, and common areas.
- Ensure all facilities are clean, functional, and well-maintained.
- Coordinate repairs, civil work, painting, carpentry, plumbing, electrical, and other maintenance.
- Housekeeping & Hygiene
- Supervise housekeeping staff and ensure proper cleanliness standards.
- Maintain hygiene in washrooms, classrooms, canteen, sports areas, and other facilities.
- Ensure proper waste disposal and pest-control activities.
- Electrical, Plumbing & Utilities
- Monitor electricity, water supply, generators, pumps, air-conditioning, lifts, etc.
- Conduct preventive maintenance to avoid breakdowns.
- Maintain records of utility consumption and identify opportunities for cost savings.
- Safety & Security




- Ensure fire safety systems, extinguishers, alarms, emergency exits, and evacuation routes are maintained.
- Coordinate with security personnel and security agencies.
- Ensure CCTV systems, access control, gates, and visitor management systems are functional.
- Conduct regular safety inspections and mock drills in coordination with the school administration.
- Vendor & AMC Management
- Coordinate with contractors and service providers.
- Manage AMC contracts for lifts, fire systems, CCTV, generators, HVAC, pest control, etc.
- Obtain quotations and coordinate procurement as per school policy.
- Monitor vendor performance and service quality.
- Event & School Activity Support
- Provide logistical and facility support for annual day, sports day, exhibitions, examinations, meetings, functions, and other school events.
