Job Summary

The Site Accountant is responsible for managing all finance and accounting activities at the project site, ensuring accurate recording of project costs, maintaining financial controls, processing payments, monitoring budgets, and supporting project management with timely financial reports. The role requires close coordination with project teams, procurement, vendors, subcontractors, and the corporate finance department to ensure compliance with company policies and contractual requirements.

Key Responsibilities

Financial Accounting & Reporting
- Maintain accurate books of accounts for site operations.
- Record and monitor project-related expenses, revenues, and cost allocations.
- Prepare daily, weekly, and monthly financial reports for project management.
- Reconcile site accounts with head office accounting records.
- Support monthly and annual financial closing activities.

Project Cost Control




- Monitor project budgets and track actual expenditures against approved budgets.
- Analyze project costs and highlight variances to management.
- Maintain cost codes and ensure proper allocation of expenses.
- Assist in forecasting project cash flows and budget requirements.

Accounts Payable & Vendor Management
- Verify supplier invoices, subcontractor bills, and supporting documentation.
- Process payment requests in accordance with company procedures.
- Maintain vendor accounts and resolve payment discrepancies.
- Monitor retention amounts, advance payments, and contract-related deductions.

Petty Cash & Cash Management
- Manage site petty cash and ensure adequate cash availability.
- Maintain cash books and conduct regular cash reconciliations.
- Prepare cash expenditure reports and supporting documentation.

Inventory & Asset Accounting
- Coordinate with stores and procurement teams to monitor material receipts and consumption.
