We are looking for an AI Voice Agent & Backend Engineer to build and maintain production grade conversational AI systems for websites and telephone calls.

The role combines backend development, real-time voice systems, retrieval-augmented generation, knowledge-base management, integrations, and production operations. The engineer will work on multilingual AI agents that answer customer questions, capture leads, retrieve verified information, manage conversations, and integrate with business systems.

Key responsibilities
- Build and maintain real-time website and telephone voice agents.
- Develop backend APIs and services using Python and FastAPI.
- Integrate speech-to-text, text-to-speech, LLM, telephony, and real-time communication providers.
- Design grounded RAG pipelines using FAISS, FastEmbed, vector embeddings, and hybrid retrieval.
- Create and maintain knowledge-base ingestion, chunking, indexing, retrieval, and source-verification workflows.
- Prevent hallucinations through evidence-based prompting, retrieval evaluation, and response validation.




- Implement multilingual conversations, persona routing, context management, interruptions, and call-state handling.
- Develop lead-capture, conversation, transcription, recording, KPI, and dashboard integrations.
- Work with PostgreSQL, asynchronous database access, object storage, and background workers.
- Build and operate services using Docker and Docker Compose.
- Diagnose issues using transcripts, application logs, database records, and live service health checks.
- Write automated tests for retrieval quality, prompts, tools, tenant isolation, authentication, and production regressions.
- Deploy changes safely without disrupting other clients or shared services.
- Maintain technical documentation, runbooks, and deployment procedures.

Required skills
- Strong Python development experience.
- Experience with FastAPI or a comparable Python web framework.
- Positive understanding of asynchronous Python and WebSocke
