Workday Benefits & Absence Architect
Responsibilities
- Owns the architecture and configuration for Workday Benefits and Absence ecosystems ensuring that designs are scalable for a growing company
- Create and maintain complex eligibility rules for benefit groups, benefit plans, leave plans, and time off plans for the company and acquired companies
- Design and configure absence plans ensuring alignment with policy and compliance requirements at the state and federal levels
- Configure a variety of benefit plans including but not limited to medical, dental, vision, HSA, FSA, life and disability insurance, and 401(k)
- Support the Benefits team with compliance reporting such as ACA, COBRA, and FMLA
- Partner developers and benefit vendors set up new integrations and maintain existing integrations that impact the benefits and absence ecosystems
- Partner with payroll teams to test downstream impacts and ensure accurate payroll
- Lead regression testing for Benefits and Absence after current Workday releases
- Create custom reports including but not limited to standard, advanced, composite, and matrix reports
- Support Workday tenant maintenance, enhancements, and troubleshooting for Benefits and Absence functional areas and provide support in related functional area as needed
- Assist HCM Manager with preparing change management plans and creating guides for end users
- Test AI features such as Workdays Employee Self Service agent and assist with overall innovation enhancements
Qualifications
- 4-8 years of Workday Benefits & Absence configuration experience
- In depth knowledge of the touchpoints between Benefits, Absence, HCM, and Payroll
- Understanding of FMLA and State Leave programs
Preferred Qualifications
- Workday Benefits Certification
- Workday Absence Certification
- Experience with time tracking integration
- Degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Computer Science or related degree
