Job Purpose
Oakridge International School, Bachupally is looking for a passionate and committed
Biology Teacher
to join our academic team on a
6–9 month maternity cover contract
.
The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering engaging, concept-driven Biology lessons, supporting students' academic progress, and creating a positive, inclusive and stimulating learning environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Plan and deliver engaging Biology lessons that promote conceptual understanding, inquiry, critical thinking and scientific skills.
- Teach Biology across the relevant secondary/senior secondary grades as per school requirements.
- Develop lesson plans, learning resources, practical activities and assessments aligned with curriculum expectations.
- Conduct laboratory activities safely and effectively.
- Assess and monitor student progress through formative and summative assessments.
- Provide constructive and timely feedback to students.
- Differentiate instruction to meet individual learning needs and abilities.
- Encourage students to develop scientific thinking and problem-solving skills.
- Collaborate with the Biology department and wider academic team.
- Participate in school events and professional development programmes.
- Contribute to a positive, inclusive and student-centred school culture.
Qualifications & Experience
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Biology / Life Sciences / Zoology / Botany or a related discipline.
- B.Ed. or equivalent teaching qualification preferred.
