Company Description Aashraya is a social impact initiative under PANHA that brings together individuals who believe kindness should lead to meaningful action. The community collaborates with old age homes, orphanages, underserved communities, women’s safety initiatives, LGBTQ+ communities, and animal welfare organizations. Aashraya focuses not only on volunteering but also on listening, showing up consistently, and reminding people they are not alone.
Volunteers can participate in visits, conversations, and projects that create tangible change for others and personal growth for themselves. The mission is to make the world better together by enabling people to volunteer, lead social impact projects, and connect with purpose-driven com munities.Role Description This is a part-time remote Volunteer role with Aashraya, a community under PANHA. Volunteers support social impact activities by coordinating and participating in virtual or on-ground initiatives with partner organizations such as old age homes, orphanages, underserved communities, women’s safety groups, LGBTQ+ communities, and animal welfare projects.
Day-to-day responsibilities may include joining online meetings or planning sessions, assisting in organizing events or drives, communicating with community members,
and helping manage outreach or awareness campaigns. Volunteers may also contribute to documenting impact stories, sharing updates on social media or messaging platforms, and helping onboard new members to the community. Scheduling is versatile, with time commitments aligned to project needs and the volunteer’s availability.
Qualifications
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to listen actively and engage respectfully with people from diverse backgrounds.
- Demonstrated empathy, patience, and a genuine interest in social impact, community service, and inclusive support for vulnerable groups.
- Basic organizational and coordination skills, including managing time, following through on commitments, and collaborating in small teams.
- Comfort with remote collaboration tools (such as video conferencing, messaging platforms, and shared documents) and willingness to learn new tools as needed.
- Reliability and consistency in showing up for scheduled activities, along with openness to feedback and continuous learning.
- Prior volunteer or community engagement experience is beneficial but not required; individuals from all educational and professional backgrounds are welcome.
- Commitment to non-discriminatory, gender-neutral, and inclusive practices aligned with Aashraya’s mission and values.
