Job Overview

We are looking for a creative and detail-oriented Video Editor & Videographer to support video recording and post-production activities for lectures, interviews, events, promotional videos, and institutional content.

The candidate will be responsible for capturing high-quality video and audio, editing footage, and delivering engaging visual content within defined timelines.

Key Responsibilities

- Record high-quality videos for lectures, interviews, events, and promotional content.
- Set up and operate cameras, microphones, lighting, and other video production equipment.
- Ensure proper framing, lighting, composition, and audio quality during recordings.
- Edit raw footage using professional video editing software.
- Add graphics, titles, transitions, subtitles, background music, and other visual elements as required.
- Organize and maintain video files, project folders, and media assets systematically.
- Coordinate with faculty, production teams, and content teams during video recordings.
- Review and ensure the quality of edited videos before final delivery.
- Deliver video projects within deadlines and maintain required quality standards.
- Support other video production requirements as assigned.

Required Skills





- Proficiency in video editing software such as Adobe Premiere Pro, Final Cut Pro, or DaVinci Resolve.
- Basic knowledge of camera handling, lighting, and audio recording.
- Understanding of video formats, codecs, resolutions, and export settings.
- Good understanding of video composition, framing, and visual storytelling.
- Ability to manage multiple projects and work within deadlines.
- Creativity, attention to detail, and willingness to learn.
- Good communication and coordination skills.

Preferred Qualifications

- Bachelor’s degree in Visual Communication, Media, Film Production, Mass Communication, or a related field.
- Freshers or candidates with 0–1 years of relevant experience are encouraged to apply.
- Academic projects, internships, freelance work, or a portfolio demonstrating video shooting and editing skills will be an advantage.
- Experience in an educational, studio, or institutional recording environment will be an added advantage.

Additional Requirements

- Candidates should be comfortable working in person at IIT Madras, Chennai.
- Willingness to handle both video shooting and post-production activities is essential.
- Candidates may be required to work on recordings and events based on the production schedule.
