At The Works, we don't believe in designing for the sake of designing.
We question the brief, get to first principles, and build things that solve real problems. We value people who are curious enough to ask why, resourceful enough to figure things out, and responsible enough to own what they build.
We’re looking for a UI/UX Designer who thinks beyond screens - to the problem behind them.
Pay Scale: Up to 40,000/month
Location: Churchgate, Mumbai (on site)
What you'll be doing
1. Design intuitive, clean, and functional experiences across web and mobile.
2. Work closely with our creative, tech, and accounts teams to turn briefs into thoughtful, user-centric experiences.
3. Start with the problem, not the solution. Understand the user, ask the right questions, and build from first principles.
4. Sketch wireframes, create prototypes, and continuously improve your work based on research, feedback, and what actually works.
5. Explore multiple possibilities before settling on the right one. Create first, critique later.
6. Question assumptions and challenge briefs when you believe there's a better way to solve the problem.
Take ownership of your work from the first idea to the final execution. We don't believe in micromanagement.
Requirements
1. 1+ year of real-world UI/UX experience with a portfolio that shows how you think, not just what you make.
2. Strong command of Figma, Adobe XD, Sketch or similar design tools.
3. A good understanding of user-centred design, accessibility, and responsive design.
4. Someone who is naturally curious and knows how to figure things out independently.
5. Someone who is comfortable with freedom and responsibility - you'll have the space to make decisions and the accountability to own them.
6. Someone who can disagree, challenge ideas, and have a point of view without making it personal.
7. Someone who cares about the details but doesn't lose sight of the bigger problem.
How we work We believe good ideas don't need hierarchy.
We'd rather have someone question a decision than blindly follow it. We'd rather have you come to us with a solution than wait for instructions. And we'd rather see you try, fail, learn, and try again than play it secure.
