Create and implement Requests for Change (RFC) and update knowledge base articles to support effective troubleshooting. Collaborate with vendors and help service management teams with issue analysis and resolution.

As a Technology Support Engineer, a typical day involves addressing and resolving incidents and problems that affect various business system components to maintain smooth and stable operations. The role includes managing change requests and continuously updating documentation to enhance troubleshooting processes. Collaboration with external vendors and internal service management teams is a key part of the daily routine, ensuring timely analysis and resolution of technical issues to support business continuity and operational efficiency.

Roles & Responsibilities:

Role Summary A mid-level Windows Administrator with hands-on experience in managing enterprise Windows Server environments. This role independently handles L2 tickets, participates in change management, and contributes to infrastructure improvement initiatives. The candidate is expected to demonstrate strong troubleshooting skills and familiarity with virtualization platforms.

Key Responsibilities

L2 Incident & Problem Management

Own and resolve L2 incidents involving Windows Server, Active Directory, DNS/DHCP, and related services

Manage and execute change requests following ITIL change management processes

Coordinate scheduled maintenance windows and execute assigned changes

Proactively identify recurring issues and propose permanent fixes or workarounds

Advanced System Administration

Manage and troubleshoot Windows Failover Clustering, DFSR, and load-balanced services

Manage certificate lifecycle including SSL/TLS certificate issuance and renewal via PKI/CA

Perform capacity planning activities and report on infrastructure health metrics

Configure and manage Windows Server roles: File Server, Print Server, WDS, and Remote Desktop Services





Administer virtualization platforms (VMware vSphere / Hyper-V) at a beginner level

Security & Compliance

Implement and enforce security hardening standards (CIS Benchmarks) on Windows Servers

Manage antivirus/EDR tool deployments and ensure compliance across the server fleet

Assist in vulnerability assessment activities and coordinate remediation

Ensure servers comply with organizational security and audit policies

Mentorship & Collaboration

Participate in problem management meetings and contribute to knowledge base articles

Collaborate with cross-functional teams (Network, Storage, Applications) for integrated issue resolution Contribute to internal documentation, SOPs, and runbook improvements

Required Skills & Competencies

Technical Skills

Windows Server 2012R2 through 2022 – Administration and troubleshooting

Windows Clustering (WSFC) – administration and basic troubleshooting

Virtualization – VMware vSphere or Hyper-V intermediate administration

SCCM/MECM – software deployment, patch management, imaging

PowerShell scripting – basic to intermediate automation for admin tasks

Security hardening – CIS Benchmarks, vulnerability scanning basics

Soft Skills

Strong troubleshooting and analytical thinking

Clear communication with technical and non-technical stakeholders

Ability to manage multiple incidents and priorities simultaneously

Proactive attitude toward identifying infrastructure gaps

Certifications

Microsoft Certified: Windows Server Hybrid Administrator Associate (AZ-800/801) – preferred

VMware Certified Professional – Data Center Virtualization (VCP-DCV) – advantageous

ITIL Foundation Certification – preferred

Skilled & Technical Skills:

- Must To Have Skills: Proficiency in Microsoft Windows Server Administration.
- Experience with server installation, configuration, and maintenance.




- Knowledge of system security practices and disaster recovery procedures.
- Ability to troubleshoot and resolve hardware, software, and network issues related to Windows Server environments.
- Familiarity with scripting and automation tools to streamline administrative tasks.

Additional Information

- The candidate should have minimum 2 years of experience in Microsoft Windows Server Administration.
- This position is based at our Pune office.
