We are looking for a confident English to Japanese Technical Translator to support our Packaging Prepress team during Pre Production Meetings (PPMs) with Japanese printers and suppliers.

The role is to act as a strong communication bridge, ensuring technical discussions around artwork, printing feasibility, challenges, and requirements are clearly understood by both our team and the printer.

Packaging domain experience is mandatory, preferably with experience in Packaging Prepress, Packaging Artwork, or Print Production.

Key Responsibilities

- Attend PPMs with Japanese printers/suppliers and provide real time English Japanese interpretation
- Clearly communicate technical discussions, artwork requirements, printing challenges, and agreed actions
- Accurately interpret the printer’s technical feedback, questions, and recommendations back to our team




- Help explain technical concepts clearly where required and ensure there is no misunderstanding
- Support discussions around colour, printing process, artwork, prepress, die-cut, emboss, barcode, printability, and finishing requirements
- Ensure both parties have a transparent understanding of the agreed technical approach before the print-ready artwork is released
- Build a skilled and positive relationship with Japanese suppliers and give them confidence when working with our team

Time Commitment

- Approximately 30 minutes per PPM
- Around 10 to 15 PPMs per month
- Estimated meeting commitment: approximately 10 hours per month
