Job Description
- Designs for Packaging machinery using and applying engineering principles & Customer spec.
- Confer with team & technical sales personnel, to clarify specifications & develop designs.
- Review drawings and bills of material within engineering team members to ensure QC.
- Selects design options which assure proper performance, reliability, safety and manufacturability.
- Complete mechanical engineering designs by calculating operational parameters such as speeds, gear ratios, drives, torques, velocities
- Respond to questions from purchasing/manufacturing personnel for clarification of design.
- Support field service for machine troubleshooting as needed.
- Preparation and attending internal / external audits for dept.
- Participation in functional and cross functional Continuous improvement initiativesQualifications
- Bachelor s degree with 8 + years of engineering experience in mechanical design of packaging machinery and factory automation.
- Problem-solving skills to identify and resolve problems in a timely manner,



including gathering and analyzing information, and developing alternative solutions.
- Have solid knowledge base of fabrication methods and processes, such as milling, turning, and welding, with an understanding of cost impacts.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including presentation skills
- Good interpersonal skills and ability to successfully handle a multi-tasked role.
- Self-motivated, sense of urgency and well organized. Willingness to travel
- Must be fluent in the use of SolidWorks and AutoCAD and Auto CAD.
- Must have at least 3+ years experience in design and development of automated machinery.
- Must have 3+ years experience reading and interpreting complex drawings of mechanical assemblies.
- Experience working with automated equipment in the food or packaging industry is preferred.
- Proven proficiency in the design and development of successful commercial products.
