Responsibilities
- Identify and qualify suppliers for machinery, spares, and materials (furnaces, pilgers, raw tubes) from India and other countries.
- Prepare and issue detailed RFQs with technical specs, drawings, and commercial terms; analyze bids for techno-commercial evaluation.
- Negotiate pricing, delivery schedules, payment terms, and warranties to optimize project costs within budget.
- Issue purchase orders, amend contracts, and track order status using ERP/Excel trackers.
- Manage vendor performance, conduct audits, and develop alternate sources for risk mitigation.
- Coordinate import logistics, customs clearance, and insurance for international procurements.
- Maintain cost databases, conduct value engineering, and report savings/purchase status weekly.
- Collaborate with engineering for spec finalization and resolve delivery/quality discrepancies.
- Should have minimum experience of 7/8 years in tube or similar industries in the field of Project.
