Responsibilities
- Manage the end-to-end annual property tax cycle for assigned real and personal property accounts, ensuring timely completion of compliance, assessment reviews, appeals,
and tax bill processing.
- Review and oversee business personal property returns, filings, and applicable exemptions across multiple jurisdictions.
- Analyze property assessments and valuation data to ensure accuracy and alignment with established review guidelines and client expectations.
- Monitor compliance, filing, and appeal deadlines, coordinate with taxing authorities, and ensure timely resolution of property tax matters.
- Provide technical guidance and quality oversight on client engagements, reviewing work outputs and ensuring adherence to applicable regulations and service standards.
- Lead, mentor, and develop team members through coaching, training, onboarding, and performance feedback, including supporting the development of Seniors and Associates.
- Manage team workload, priorities, and project delivery, ensuring assignments are completed accurately and within agreed timelines.
- Communicate project status, key findings, risks, and recommendations effectively with U.S.-based teams, clients, and other stakeholders.
- Support client relationship management and business development through strong service delivery, issue resolution, retention, cross-selling, and participation in client/professional activities.
- Drive process improvements and practice initiatives,
ensure compliance with firm policies and quality standards, and contribute to special projects and thought leadership activities.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field preferred.
- Minimum of 4 years of experience in property tax compliance, assessment review, or related property tax functions.
- Strong technical, analytical, and problem-solving skills with the ability to interpret complex property tax data, regulations, and assessment information.
- Strong review and quality-control skills, with excellent attention to detail and the ability to identify and resolve issues across multiple engagements.
- Ability to manage multiple projects, priorities, and deadlines independently while ensuring timely and accurate delivery.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with clients, U.S.-based teams, taxing authorities, and internal stakeholders.
- Proven ability to lead, mentor, and develop team members through coaching, training, feedback, and technical guidance.
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel, Word, and Outlook, along with experience using property tax platforms such as OneSource Property Tax, PTMS, Avalara, or similar tools.
- Strong knowledge of multi-state property tax compliance, business personal property filings, assessment reviews, appeals, and tax bill processes.
- Strong client-service, stakeholder-management, and business-development skills, with the ability to identify process improvements and contribute to practice growth initiatives.
