Systems Engineering Intern
Engineering internship supporting vehicle architecture, technical readiness and systems integration.
Function / reporting
Electronics Integration / Systems Engineering | Lead Engineer - Electronics Integration
Location / mode
Bengaluru | on-site
Qualification
Pre-final/final-year B.E./B.Tech students in a relevant discipline; recent graduates may also apply
ABOUT THE TEAM The Electronics Integration team works across electronic subsystems to help move individual components from working in isolation to operating together reliably at vehicle level. The team supports system architecture, staged integration, technical-risk reviews, validation and structured debugging.
ROLE OVERVIEW
You will assist engineers in understanding, documenting, integrating and assessing vehicle-level functions across multiple subsystems. The internship spans three related areas.
WHAT YOU WILL WORK ON
- System architecture and documentation: join structured walkthroughs with subsystem teams and prepare or update vehicle-level block diagrams, interface maps, data/control flows, sequence diagrams, state machines and fault-response flows.
- System understanding: record inputs, outputs, interlocks, timing assumptions, fallback behaviour, source references and open questions; route unclear or conflicting information to the appropriate engineer for review.
- FMEA and evidence support: maintain traceability among observations, Bug IDs, FMEA items, root-cause/corrective-action records and validation evidence,
and prepare factual inputs for engineering reviews.
- Technical readiness: update feature-readiness views with feature presence, test status, open bugs, blockers and validation status, while keeping technical readiness separate from the master program schedule.
- Integration testing: execute approved tests on vehicles, benches or partial setups; record prerequisites, configuration, software versions, steps, results and supporting evidence.
- Debugging support: capture CAN/diagnostic logs and test notes, perform approved electrical or interface checks under supervision, support structured issue isolation, and assist with regression and fix verification.
WHAT WE LOOK FOR
- Currently in the pre-final or final year of B.E./B.Tech in Electrical, Electronics, Automotive, Mechatronics, Embedded Systems or a related discipline; recent graduates may also apply.
- Systems thinking, curiosity, enthusiasm and the ability to follow one function across multiple controllers and interfaces.
- Basic understanding of embedded systems, CAN, sensors, actuators, state machines, diagnostics and fault logic.
- A methodical working style: separates facts from assumptions, documents evidence clearly and escalates uncertainty.
- Comfort with Excel and diagramming tools; hands-on laboratory, Formula Student/BAJA, robotics, EV or embedded-project experience is practical.
GOOD TO HAVE
- Exposure to FMEA, verification/validation, requirements or interface documentation, CAN tools, oscilloscopes, Python or MATLAB.
