ABOUT THE ROLE

We are looking for an experienced Shipbuilding Hull & Structure Design Consultant with 5–8 years of experience in shipbuilding design consulting and marine engineering.

The role focuses on supporting and delivering solutions across Hull & Structure Design, Manufacturing, Drafting, Marine Structural Design, and Shipbuilding processes. The candidate will work on 3DEXPERIENCE-based digital engineering solutions, process improvement, technical support, automation, platform administration, and user adoption within shipbuilding/shipyard environments.

The ideal candidate should have strong shipbuilding domain knowledge along with hands-on experience in CATIA V6, ENOVIA, DELMIA and/or 3DEXPERIENCE, and should be comfortable working with engineering, manufacturing, IT, and cross-functional teams.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Understand and support ship design workflows covering Space Allocation, Structure Design, Manufacturing, and Drafting.

- Provide solution delivery and consulting for Hull Structure Design, Manufacturing and Drafting, aligned with standard shipbuilding processes.
- Work with Marine Structural Design and shipbuilding engineering processes.
- Understand legacy design and manufacturing practices and map them to new digital tools to improve adaptability, efficiency, and workflow performance.
- Support 3DEXPERIENCE platform implementation and adoption within shipbuilding operations.
- Follow best-practice methodologies for Nesting software integration (ALMA) and Spool Drawing generation using 3DEXPERIENCE out-of-the-box (OOTB) capabilities.
- Troubleshoot functional and technical issues reported by users and raise service requests with Dassault Systèmes R&D;/Support when required.
- Identify and report software bugs/defects to the relevant R&D; team.
- Support requirements involving customization or new configurations by assessing the requirement, estimating effort and timelines, and communicating the same to stakeholders.
- Support 3DEXPERIENCE Platform Administration, including user creation, attribute creation, configuration, access-related activities, and proactive platform maintenance.




- Support 3DEXPERIENCE infrastructure-related activities, including troubleshooting, backup-related activities, and service request management.
- Respond to user queries/issues within 2 days and resolve issues related to standard/OOTB functionality within 3 working days, wherever applicable.
- Identify and implement opportunities for automation of Hull & Structure calculations and engineering workflows.
- Support process improvement, workflow optimization, and efficient integration of digital engineering tools into large shipyard operations.
- Lead and support cross-functional projects involving engineering, design, manufacturing, IT, and other stakeholders.
- Prepare technical documentation, process documentation, solution documentation, and user guidelines.
- Conduct training and knowledge-transfer sessions for designers and engineering users.
- Support Proposal Engineering and Cost Estimation activities when required.

REQUIRED TECHNICAL SKILLS

Shipbuilding & Hull/Structure

• 5–8 years of experience in Shipbuilding Design Consulting / Shipbuilding Engineering.

- Strong understanding of shipbuilding design and manufacturing processes.
- Experience in Hull & Structure Design, 3D Modelling, Manufacturing and Drafting.
- Experience in one or more of the following areas: Accommodation & Steel Outfitting, Structure Design & Manufacturing, Hull Structure Design, Marine Structural Design.
- Experience in creating manufacturing drawings and drafting for shipbuilding.
- Knowledge of generating programs/codes for plate cutting and manufacturing.

CAD / PLM / Digital Engineering

• CATIA V6

• 3DEXPERIENCE Platform

• Experience in software customization, configuration and integration.

• Experience with 3DEXPERIENCE implementation, adoption, administration and troubleshooting.

Structural Engineering

Knowledge/experience in structural calculations and classification requirements such as:

QUALIFICATIONS

• Full-time Graduate Degree in Engineering – Mechanical / Electrical / Production Engineering.

- 5–8 years of relevant experience in Shipbuilding Design Consulting / Engineering.
- Strong knowledge of the shipbuilding industry and ship design/manufacturing processes.
- Candidate should be well-versed in one or more of the following:

– Accommodation & Steel Outfitting

– Structure Design & Manufacturing
