Role Description This is a full-time, on-site Sr Captain role based at Shiv Niwas Palace in Udaipur.

The Sr

Captain oversees daily restaurant or banquet operations, including managing service staff, coordinating table assignments, and ensuring timely and accurate order delivery. The role involves supervising guest service standards, handling special requests and complaints, and maintaining a welcoming, professional atmosphere in dining areas.

Captain collaborates with the kitchen and bar teams to coordinate menus, events, and service sequences, and supports training and mentoring of junior staff.



Additional responsibilities include monitoring cleanliness and presentation, assisting with inventory and stock checks, and adhering to safety, hygiene, and company policies.

Qualifications

- Solid background in food and beverage service, with experience in fine dining or luxury hotel environments.

- Proven ability to supervise and motivate service teams, including mentoring junior staff and coordinating shifts.

- Excellent guest service and communication skills, with the ability to handle guest feedback and resolve issues professionally.

- Knowledge of restaurant operations, menu coordination, billing procedures, and basic POS systems.

- Understanding of hygiene, safety, and quality standards relevant to hospitality and food service.

- Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays, and remain calm under pressure during peak service times.

- Minimum of a diploma or degree in Hotel Management or a related field; equivalent hands-on experience in hospitality may be considered.

- Prior experience as a Captain or Sr Captain in a hotel or upscale restaurant is highly preferred.

- Comfort working in a multicultural team and interacting with guests from diverse backgrounds; basic proficiency in English and Hindi is beneficial.
