Mission of the Role : The Functional Safety Specialist is responsible for ensuring that automotive electronic systems comply with ISO 26262 and related safety standards. The role involves safety concept creation, hazard analysis, safety requirements engineering, technical safety architecture, verification planning, and supporting hardware/software teams through the full safety lifecycle.

Key Responsibilities

Functional Safety Lifecycle Management
Lead and execute activities across the ISO 26262 V-model safety lifecycle, from concept phase to SOP.




Develop and maintain the Functional Safety Plan, timelines, and work products.
Ensure processes are followed and all safety artifacts are created and reviewed.
Safety Analysis & Concept Development
Perform Hazard Analysis and Risk Assessment (HARA) and derive ASIL levels.
Develop Functional Safety Concept (FSC) and Technical Safety Concept (TSC).
Define safety goals, safety mechanisms, and safety requirements (FSR/TSR).
Requirements Engineering
Write, review, and maintain functional and technical safety requirements.
Ensure bi-directional traceability between requirements, design, implementation, and validation.
Support system, hardware, and software teams to interpret and implement safety requirements.
Hardware & Software Safety
Collaborate with hardware architects to define safety mechanisms for MCU, PMIC, watchdog, self-tests, power domains, fault handling, etc.
