We are hiring for the role of Sourcing Manager from the Handicrafts Industry for the Gurgaon location.

Key Responsibilities1.

Product

Sourcing &

• Development

- Identify and develop new handicraft manufacturers, artisans, suppliers, and vendors across India.
- Source products based on design briefs, market trends, customer requirements, and commercial objectives.
- Develop new products in categories such as brass, metal décor, wood, ceramics, textiles, stone, handcrafted gifting, and home accessories.
- Work closely with design and product teams to convert concepts into commercially viable products.
- Coordinate sampling, prototyping, modifications, and final product approvals.
- Explore new materials, techniques, finishes, and regional craft clusters.

2.

Vendor

Management

- Build and maintain a solid network of reliable manufacturers, artisans, and suppliers.
- Evaluate vendors based on quality, capacity, pricing, production capabilities, compliance, and delivery performance.
- Negotiate commercial terms, MOQs, payment terms, lead times, and pricing.
- Maintain strong relationships with existing vendors while continuously developing alternative sources.
- Conduct regular vendor visits and factory/production-unit evaluations.
- Ensure vendor capacity is aligned with current and future business requirements.

3. Costing &

• Commercials

- Prepare detailed product costings including raw materials, labour, finishing, packaging, transportation, and other applicable costs.
- Negotiate the best possible purchase prices without compromising product quality.
- Conduct regular price benchmarking and identify opportunities for cost optimization.
- Analyze cost structures and recommend suitable alternatives for achieving target margins.




- Ensure all products meet predefined target costing and profitability requirements.

4. Quality &

• Production Coordination

- Establish quality standards and specifications for sourced products.
- Coordinate with vendors to ensure production follows approved samples and specifications.
- Monitor production progress and resolve quality or manufacturing issues.
- Coordinate pre-dispatch inspections and corrective actions wherever required.
- Ensure consistency in dimensions, finish, colour, material, craftsmanship, and overall product quality.

5. Production &

• Supply Planning

- Plan procurement according to sales forecasts, product launches, and inventory requirements.
- Track production schedules and ensure timely completion of purchase orders.
- Follow up with vendors regularly to prevent production delays.
- Coordinate with inventory, warehouse, operations, and logistics teams for timely inward movement.
- Maintain appropriate backup vendors for critical/high-volume products.

6. Market &

• Craft Cluster Development

- Stay updated on emerging handicraft trends, materials, techniques, and regional craft developments.
- Identify key sourcing clusters and artisan communities across India.
- Build direct relationships with artisans and manufacturers where commercially viable.
- Explore opportunities to develop exclusive or differentiated products.
- Conduct competitor and market research to identify new sourcing opportunities.

7. Documentation &

• Reporting

- Maintain updated vendor databases, price lists, sample records, and product specifications.
- Maintain purchase orders, costing sheets, production trackers, and vendor performance reports.
- Track sourcing KPIs including cost savings, vendor performance, quality rejection, lead time, and on-time delivery.
- Provide regular sourcing and production updates to management.
