Position: Solar Project Manager – Electrical Design & Project Management

Location: Kerala

Qualification: B.Tech / B.E. in Electrical & Electronics Engineering (EEE) – MANDATORY

About the Role

We are looking for a highly capable Solar Project Manager with strong Electrical Design, Solar PV Engineering and Project Management expertise.

The ideal candidate should have hands-on experience in executing Solar EPC projects, excellent knowledge of electrical systems, strong AutoCAD skills, and the ability to manage projects from design and planning through installation, testing and commissioning.

Key Responsibilities

Project Management

- Manage end-to-end Solar EPC projects from initial planning to final commissioning.
- Prepare project schedules, execution plans and resource requirements.
- Coordinate with clients, consultants, vendors, subcontractors and internal teams.
- Monitor project progress, quality, cost and timelines.
- Conduct regular site inspections and ensure proper project execution.
- Identify technical and execution issues and provide effective solutions.
- Manage manpower, materials and equipment requirements at project sites.
- Ensure projects are completed within the approved schedule and specifications.

Electrical Design & Engineering
- Design and review electrical systems for Solar PV projects.
- Prepare and review Single Line Diagrams (SLDs), electrical layouts, cable schedules and equipment specifications.
- Perform DC/AC cable sizing, voltage-drop calculations and protection-system selection.
- Design and review ACDB, DCDB, MDB, LT panels, SPDs, MCBs/MCCBs, isolators and other protection equipment.
- Design and review earthing and lightning protection systems.




- Review inverter, transformer, CT/PT and other electrical equipment requirements.
- Ensure proper electrical integration of solar plants with existing electrical systems.
- Review electrical drawings, BOQs and technical specifications before project execution.

AutoCAD & Technical Documentation
- Prepare and modify Solar PV electrical drawings using AutoCAD.
- Prepare SLDs, layouts, cable routing drawings, earthing layouts and other technical drawings.
- Review drawings prepared by design teams and ensure technical accuracy.
- Maintain project documentation, as-built drawings, test reports and commissioning documents.

Site Execution & Commissioning
- Supervise and coordinate solar installation and electrical works.
- Ensure proper installation of PV modules, inverters, AC/DC systems, earthing and protection systems.
- Monitor testing, inspection and commissioning activities.
- Coordinate grid synchronization and project handover activities.
- Ensure compliance with applicable electrical standards, safety requirements and KSEB procedures.

Mandatory Requirements

- B.Tech / B.E. in Electrical & Electronics Engineering (EEE) – MANDATORY.
- Minimum 3 years of relevant experience in Solar EPC / Electrical Project Management.
- Solid practical knowledge of Solar PV electrical design.
- Strong working knowledge of AutoCAD – MANDATORY.
- Proven experience in Solar Project Management and site execution.




- Strong knowledge of:
- Solar PV system design
- Electrical SLDs
- AC/DC cable sizing
- Voltage-drop calculations
- Earthing systems
- Lightning protection
- SPD and electrical protection
- ACDB/DCDB/MDB systems
- Inverter integration
- Electrical testing & commissioning
- Good understanding of KSEB requirements and procedures.
- Ability to independently manage projects and coordinate multiple teams.
- Strong analytical, troubleshooting and decision-making skills.
- Good communication and team-management abilities.
- Candidate must be from Kerala / currently based in Kerala.

Preferred Experience

Candidates with experience in residential, commercial and industrial (C&I;) Solar EPC projects will be preferred.

Experience in handling projects involving HT/LT systems, transformers, DG synchronization, net metering, grid integration and large-scale rooftop solar projects will be an added advantage.

We are looking for someone who is not only a project coordinator but a strong electrical engineer capable of taking technical ownership of Solar EPC projects.

The candidate should be comfortable working between design office and project sites, making technical decisions, coordinating teams and ensuring successful project completion.
