Project Staff- Software Quality Assurance Engineer

About the Project A government-funded initiative at IIT Bombay focusing on the development and demonstration of drones and allied technologies. This project aims to address various applications through the utilization of advanced technologies and critical infrastructure. We foster robust industry connections and collaborations to solve pertinent challenges and drive technological advancements.

Comprehensive drone training and awareness programs will be provided to ensure proficiency and understanding among people.

Qualification:

- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field
- 3-5 years of proven experience as a quality assurance engineer, software tester, or similar role with expertise in manual and automated testing.

Required Skills:

- Hands-on experience in both manual and automated testing of Desktop, Mobile Apps (Android/iOS), and Web Applications throughout the software development lifecycle.
- Strong understanding of software testing methodologies including Functional, Regression, integration testing, System testing, Exploratory, Performance, and User Acceptance Testing.
- Experience creating and maintaining comprehensive Test Plans, Test Cases, Test Execution Reports, Release Plans, Test Environments, Test Configurations, and Traceability documentation.




- Experience building and maintaining automated test suites using tools/frameworks such as Selenium, JUnit, TestNG, or equivalent.
- Proficiency in one or more programming languages such as Java, Python, JavaScript, Node.js, or C++ for automation scripting.
- Experience with API testing using Postman, REST APIs, Swagger/OpenAPI, or similar tools.
- Experience with performance and load testing using JMeter, LoadRunner, or equivalent tools.
- Experience validating data using SQL and working with relational or NoSQL databases.
- Familiarity with Git, version control workflows, and CI/CD pipelines.
- Understanding of Security testing principles and commonly used security testing tools.
- Strong analytical, debugging, documentation, and communication skills with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.

Nice to Have

- Experience testing Qt/QML (Qt Quick) desktop applications, embedded systems, or simulator-based environments (e.g., Gazebo).
- Experience testing real-time or distributed systems involving REST APIs, WebSockets, MQTT, or similar communication protocols.
- Experience in Robotics, Drones, Aerospace, GIS, or related domains.
- Familiarity with Docker, Linux environments, and cloud-based deployments.
