Full Stack Engineer – CIS Team

About The Opportunity

MetLife is seeking a skilled Full Stack Engineer with 5+ years of hands-on experience in developing enterprise-grade applications. This prospect is ideal for an engineer who can design, build, test, and support secure, scalable, and maintainable systems while collaborating with global stakeholders, architects, product owners, and cross-functional delivery teams.

What You Will Do

- Design, develop, test, and maintain full-stack enterprise applications using modern engineering practices.
- Build backend services, REST APIs, and integration components using Java, Spring Boot, and related enterprise frameworks.
- Develop responsive and user-friendly frontend components using modern web technologies and reusable UI patterns.
- Collaborate with business analysts, architects, QA engineers, DevOps teams, and application owners to deliver features in an Agile model.
- Participate in code reviews, unit testing, functional validation, release readiness, and production support activities.
- Apply secure coding, performance, logging, monitoring, and resilience practices to improve application quality and stability.
- Support CI/CD, deployment automation, documentation, and change-management processes required for enterprise technology delivery.

What We Are Looking For
- 5+ years of professional experience in full-stack application development, preferably in enterprise systems.
- Strong hands-on experience in Java, Spring Boot, REST APIs, and microservices-based application development.
- Experience building frontend applications using React, Angular, JavaScript, TypeScript, or equivalent modern web frameworks.
- Good understanding of relational and NoSQL databases, data modeling, query optimization,



and integration patterns.
- Experience working in Agile teams and contributing to sprint planning, development, testing, demos, and retrospectives.
- Hands-on exposure to CI/CD pipelines, source control, build automation, deployment automation, and cloud-ready engineering practices.
- Working knowledge of containers, cloud platforms, observability, and production support practices is preferred.
- Exposure to AI-assisted software engineering tools such as GitHub Copilot or similar developer productivity platforms is an advantage.

Technical Skills
- Full-stack development of enterprise applications across frontend, backend, database, and integration layers.
- Strong Java development skills including object-oriented design, collections, exception handling, concurrency basics, and clean coding practices.
- Hands-on experience with Spring Boot, Spring Framework, RESTful services, dependency injection, configuration management, and microservices development.
- Frontend technologies such as React, Angular, JavaScript, TypeScript, HTML, CSS, Material UI, or equivalent enterprise UI frameworks.
- Databases and persistence technologies including SQL Server, Oracle, PostgreSQL, MongoDB, Cosmos DB, Cassandra, or equivalent.
- Containers and cloud-ready deployment exposure with Docker, Kubernetes, Azure, AWS, GCP, or equivalent platforms.
- CI/CD and DevOps tools such as Git,



Bitbucket, Bamboo, Azure DevOps, Jenkins, UCD, or similar.
- Observability, logging, monitoring, and quality tools such as Splunk, AppDynamics, SonarQube, Veracode, JUnit, Mockito, or equivalent.

Preferred Qualifications

- Experience developing and supporting enterprise systems in insurance, financial services, or regulated technology environments.
- Scrum knowledge and experience working in Agile delivery teams.
- Automated testing mindset with experience in unit testing, integration testing, code coverage, and quality engineering practices.
- Exposure to incident management, release management, application monitoring, and production support.
- Azure, cloud development, DevOps, or Java certification is preferred but not mandatory.
