Vedanta’s Aluminium business has embarked on a transformational journey to be amongst the top three global players with 3 MTPA capacity. Its subsidiary, BALCO, comprising 5.7 LTPA smelter and 1740 MW power generator, is currently poised to scale-up by 4.35 LTPA, taking the total aluminium production capacity to 1 MTPA. Roles & Responsibilities:

- Develop and execute a detailed start-up strategy for the potline, aligning with overall project timelines and milestones.
- Coordinate with engineering teams to ensure a smooth transition from commissioning to operational status.
- Implement systems for real-time performance monitoring of potline equipment during start-up.
- Oversee troubleshooting activities, addressing any operational issues and coordinating with engineering and maintenance teams.
- Oversee the start-up procedures for reduction cells, including the gradual initiation of alumina reduction, temperature control, and current distribution.
- Implement phased start-up protocols for individual reduction cell lines.
- Manage the integration and start-up of rectifier systems, ensuring proper synchronization with reduction cell operations.
- Collaborate with electrical engineers to optimize power distribution and rectification processes.
- Collaborate with process engineers to optimize potline processes for efficiency, energy consumption, and product quality.
- Implement adjustments to operational parameters during start-up to achieve optimal performance.
- Ensure compliance with local, state, and legal safety regulations, as well as industry standards.




- Stay informed about changes in regulations and implement necessary adjustments to safety protocols.
- All audits related to quality. SAP, MIS & MES.
- Develop and deliver safety training programs for personnel involved in commissioning activities.
- Manage the compilation and organization of comprehensive documentation related to electrical systems, including schematic drawings, equipment specifications, and maintenance manuals.
- Develop and enforce safety protocols for potline start-up activities, with a focus on mitigating risks and ensuring a secure working environment.
- Establish emergency response procedures for quick resolution of unforeseen issues.
- Collaborate with safety officers to implement and monitor safety protocols.
- Ensuring continuous improvement in quality system of ISO-9001, ISO-1400 and OHSAS-18001

Desire Qualification & Skill:

- B.E. (Mech/EEE/E&I;) with 10-15 years of experience.
- Analytical Skills
- Communication with internal and external customers
- Certification in relevant safety programs (e.g., CSP, CIH) is a plus.
- Extensive experience in potline operations, with a focus on start-up activities in the aluminum smelting industry.
- Proven track record in leading successful start-up projects for similar facilities.
- In-depth knowledge of reduction cell operations, rectifier systems, and associated potline equipment.
- Strong leadership and communication skills for effective collaboration with cross-functional teams.
