Job Summary:

MachineStation India is looking for an experienced Senior Web Developer / Web Development Lead to take ownership of our growing international web ecosystem.

The ideal candidate will be a strong hands-on developer with expertise in WordPress, PHP, JavaScript, React.js, MySQL, APIs, website performance, technical SEO and web security, along with proven experience in team leadership and international client/market projects.

This is a senior role for someone who can independently understand business requirements, plan technical solutions, lead developers, troubleshoot complex issues and ensure projects are delivered on time with high quality.

We are looking for someone with strong communication, problem-solving and ownership skills who does not require constant follow-up from management.

Key Responsibilities

Web Development & Technical Ownership

- Take end-to-end technical ownership of MachineStation's websites and web platforms.
- Develop, maintain and enhance WordPress-based websites and custom web solutions.
- Build custom WordPress themes, plugins, templates, components and functionality.
- Develop responsive and high-performance websites using HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript, jQuery, React.js, Bootstrap/Tailwind and related technologies.
- Work with PHP, MySQL, REST APIs and third-party integrations.
- Manage website architecture, database performance and technical improvements.
- Review existing code and identify opportunities to improve scalability, security and maintainability.
- Manage development, testing, deployment and post-release monitoring.

Website Performance & Security

- Take ownership of website speed and performance.
- Optimize Core Web Vitals, page load speed, images, JavaScript, CSS, caching and databases.
- Troubleshoot server, plugin, database and application-level performance issues.
- Maintain website security, SSL, plugins, themes, backups and updates.
- Monitor and resolve technical errors, broken links, 404 issues and browser/console errors.

Product & E-commerce Website Development

- Manage large product/inventory-based websites.
- Work with product categories, brands, tags, taxonomies, attributes and product data.
- Develop and maintain product filters, search, forms, wishlist, inquiry and other website functionality.




- Support product synchronization and integrations between websites and other systems.
- Ensure product pages and inventory-related functionality work accurately across desktop and mobile.

Technical SEO

- Implement technical SEO best practices.
- Work with meta titles, descriptions, URLs, redirects, schema, sitemap, canonical tags and indexing.
- Optimize website structure and performance for search engines.
- Work with tools such as Google Analytics, Google Search Console, Yoast SEO and similar platforms.
- Collaborate with the Marketing/SEO team on technical requirements.

International Website Development

- Work on websites serving international markets, particularly US/UK/European markets.
- Understand international user experience and website standards.
- Support multi-language and international website requirements.
- Coordinate effectively with international stakeholders and teams.
- Experience working with international clients or global businesses will be strongly preferred.

Team Leadership
- Lead and mentor the existing web development team.
- Allocate technical tasks and monitor project timelines.
- Review development work and conduct code reviews.
- Establish development and QA standards.
- Identify technical blockers and resolve them proactively.
- Train junior and mid-level developers.

Project Management & Ownership

- Convert business requirements into clear technical solutions.
- Estimate development timelines and communicate realistic ETAs.
- Manage multiple projects and priorities simultaneously.
- Identify potential delays or technical risks before they impact delivery.
- Provide clear and proactive status updates.
- Take responsibility for projects from requirement through deployment and closure.
- Proactively identify website issues and improvement opportunities rather than waiting for instructions.
- Ensure the team follows proper development, testing and deployment processes.
- Build a culture of accountability, quality and ownership.

- Strong hands-on experience in WordPress and PHP.
- Experience managing production websites.
- Proven experience leading or mentoring a web development team.
- Experience working on large-scale or high-volume websites.
- Experience with international clients, international markets or global websites is highly preferred.
- Experience managing projects independently from requirement to deployment.
