About the Role
Applix is looking for an experienced Senior Windows Administrator to join our team full-time and work on-site at a client location in Bangalore.
This is a hands-on enterprise infrastructure role focused on Windows Server administration, SCCM/Microsoft Configuration Manager, SCOM, OS imaging, patching, vulnerability remediation, automation, and cloud-hosted Windows environments.
You will support business-critical infrastructure across on-premises, cloud, and hybrid environments while working closely with application, network, cloud, and security teams.
What You'll Do
Windows Server & Endpoint Administration
- Administer and support enterprise Windows Server 2016/2019/2022 environments.
- Troubleshoot Windows OS, system services, registry, performance, and local security policies.
- Provide advanced L2/L3 support for complex Windows server and endpoint issues.
- Diagnose problems across CPU, memory, disk, networking, services, and operating system layers.
SCCM / Microsoft Configuration Manager
- Design, administer, and troubleshoot SCCM/Microsoft Configuration Manager environments.
- Build and maintain OS images, task sequences, and enterprise deployment workflows.
- Package and deploy applications across enterprise environments.
- Manage patching and software-update deployments.
- Troubleshoot SCCM client health, content distribution, and deployment failures.
- Automate deployment and compliance-reporting processes.
SCOM & Monitoring
- Configure and support Microsoft System Center Operations Manager (SCOM).
- Implement monitoring for servers, applications, and infrastructure components.
- Configure alerts, thresholds, and proactive monitoring.
- Perform root-cause analysis using monitoring, event logs, and diagnostic tools.
Cloud & Hybrid Infrastructure
- Manage Windows workloads running on cloud-hosted virtual machines, with Azure experience preferred.
- Provision, configure, maintain, and troubleshoot virtual machines.
- Troubleshoot compute, storage, and networking issues within IaaS environments.
- Support hybrid infrastructure, cloud migration, and modernization initiatives.
Security & Vulnerability Management
- Identify and remediate Windows infrastructure vulnerabilities.
- Manage patch compliance, security hardening, and baseline enforcement.
- Partner with security teams to meet enterprise audit, security, and governance requirements.
- Support endpoint security and vulnerability-management tooling.
Imaging & Automation
- Create, maintain, and optimize standardized enterprise Windows OS images.
- Automate repetitive administration and deployment tasks using PowerShell and scripting.
- Standardize infrastructure and deployment practices to improve reliability and scalability.
Enterprise Operations
- Participate in incident, problem, and change management processes.
- Maintain SOPs, runbooks, and technical documentation.
- Collaborate with infrastructure, cloud, network, application, and security teams.
- Participate in on-call support, planned maintenance, and patching activities as required.
What We're Looking For
- 8–12+ years of Windows systems administration experience.
- Robust hands-on experience with Windows Server 2016/2019/2022.
- Deep practical experience with SCCM / Microsoft Configuration Manager.
- Hands-on experience with:
- OS deployment and imaging
- Task sequences
- Application packaging and deployment
- Patch management
- SCCM client and distribution troubleshooting
- Experience with SCOM monitoring and alerting.
- Experience with vulnerability remediation, security hardening, and patch compliance.
- Strong PowerShell scripting and automation skills.
- Experience managing cloud-hosted Windows VMs, preferably Microsoft Azure.
- Strong infrastructure troubleshooting across Windows, networking, storage, and cloud layers.
- Understanding of networking fundamentals, security best practices, and ITIL processes.
- Strong ownership, troubleshooting, communication, and stakeholder-management skills.
Nice to Have
- Microsoft certifications related to Windows Server, SCCM, or Azure.
- Experience with Azure Monitor and Log Analytics.
- Experience with endpoint security or vulnerability-management platforms.
- Experience operating hybrid cloud/on-premises environments.
- Exposure to Microsoft Intune / modern endpoint management.
Work Requirements
This is a full-time Applix position deployed on-site at a client location in Bangalore.
Candidates must be comfortable working 5 days per week from the client site and participating in scheduled maintenance, patch windows, and on-call support when required.
