About Jolt

Jolt is an iOS app that helps people take back control of their attention and screen time.

Video is central to how people discover and understand Jolt — from Reels, Shorts and performance ads to product films, narrative content and larger creative campaigns.

We're looking for a Senior Video Editor who is exceptionally good at Adobe Premiere Pro and Adobe After Effects.

Not someone who simply knows how to use them.

We want someone who has spent enough time inside these two applications that operating them feels instinctive.

The Most Important Requirement

You Should Know Premiere Pro and After Effects inside out.

We are specifically looking for someone with deep, keyboard-first command of both applications.

If an operation you perform regularly has a keyboard shortcut, we expect you to know it — or to have intentionally created a better custom shortcut for your workflow.

Editing, trimming, navigating timelines, moving between panels, manipulating layers, creating keyframes, changing properties, managing compositions and performing repetitive operations should happen almost instinctively.

You shouldn't constantly be reaching for menus.

You shouldn't regularly need to Google basic workflows.

You shouldn't need to stop and think about where a commonly used tool lives.

Your knowledge of the software should make you noticeably faster.

Watching you work should feel like watching someone operate an instrument they know intimately.

Adobe Premiere Pro:

We expect genuinely expert-level proficiency in Premiere Pro.

You should be extremely comfortable with:

The important part isn't whether you've encountered every feature once. It's whether Premiere has become second nature to you.

Adobe After Effects:

After Effects is equally significant.

This is not a Premiere role where After Effects means opening templates and changing the text.

You should be able to build visual treatments yourself.

You do not need to be a specialist VFX artist. But if an edit requires custom motion, tracking, compositing, typography, screen replacement or cleanup, you should be capable of solving the problem yourself rather than immediately looking for a template

What You'll Work On:

You'll work across Jolt's video output, including:

- Reels and Shorts
- Performance ads
- Social-first storytelling
- UGC-led ads
- Product videos
- App/UI videos
- Motion-heavy edits
- Narrative films
- YouTube content
- Cinematic brand pieces
- Campaign films

You'll take edits from raw material through to final delivery.

That includes

- Footage selection
- Story structure
- Pacing
- Music
- Sound design

- Compositing
- Colour correction
- Finishing
- Revisions
- Exports

Sometimes you'll receive a detailed brief. Sometimes you'll receive a reference and an idea.

We expect you to be able to figure out the execution.

Speed Matters

We're a young company and our content output moves quickly.

We don't want speed at the expense of craft.

We want craft enabled by technical fluency.

Your knowledge of Premiere and After Effects should allow you to move considerably faster than someone who knows the software only at a surface level.

When there's a faster professional workflow, you should probably know it.

When there's a repetitive action, you should probably have a shortcut for it.

When there's a better way to structure a project, you should recognise it.

Editorial Taste Matters Too

Being a software expert doesn't automatically make someone a great editor.

You should also have strong instincts around:

- Story

- Shot selection
- Music
- Sound design
- Typography
- Visual hierarchy
- Motion
- Transitions
- Compositing
- Restraint

You should know when an edit needs more energy. And when it needs less.





A hook-driven 15-second performance ad and a quiet cinematic product film should not feel like the same edit.

AI Filmmaking — Bonus

Experience creating AI-generated visual assets or films is a strong bonus, but not a substitute for Adobe expertise.

We're interested if you've experimented with:

- Text-to-video
- Image-to-video
- Reference-driven generation
- AI-generated shots
- AI-assisted VFX
- Generative cleanup
- Upscaling
- Character or environment consistency
- Combining generated footage with live-action footage
- Taking imperfect AI assets into After Effects or Premiere and making them production-ready

We care more about whether you can integrate AI intelligently into a professional post-production workflow than which specific tools you use. Premiere + After Effects mastery comes first.

DaVinci Resolve — Bonus

Working knowledge of DaVinci Resolve is useful, particularly for:

- Colour correction
- Colour grading
- Conform workflows
- Finishing

But this is not a DaVinci-first editing role. Our core requirement is expertise in Adobe Premiere Pro + Adobe After Effects.

You Should Apply If

- You have approximately 2–4+ years of serious professional editing/post-production experience, or your work clearly demonstrates equivalent ability.
- Adobe Premiere Pro feels like second nature to you.
- Adobe After Effects feels like second nature to you.
- You have exceptional command of keyboard shortcuts in both applications.
- You regularly customise shortcuts to make your workflow faster.
- You are significantly more comfortable working from the keyboard than hunting through menus.
- You understand professional post-production workflows beyond simply assembling footage.
- You can create motion graphics rather than only modify templates.
- You can reverse-engineer a reference edit and understand how it was constructed.
- You understand codecs, proxies, frame rates, resolutions, colour, media management and exports.
- You work quickly without becoming careless.
- You maintain organised, understandable project files.
- You have strong editorial taste.
- You enjoy learning obscure features, techniques and workflow improvements inside the software you use every day.
