As a Product Definition and Applications Engineer for Point-of-Load (PoL) power solutions, you will drive the definition, development, and successful deployment of innovative power management products for Server, Consumer, Communication, and Industrial markets. You will serve as a key technical interface between customers, marketing, and engineering teams, translating customer needs into product requirements and ensuring successful design-in and market adoption.

Your role

Key responsibilities in your new role

- Work with Server, Consumer, Communication, and Industrial customers and respective marketing teams to define and support the development of Point of Load devices products. Work with customers internal to Infineon and external to Infineon to create strong and clear definitions for product operation and product pin functionally.
- Work with internal development teams to define the POL architecture and control method (COT, Voltage Mode, Current Mode), and to verify the target application requirements.
- Develop block level diagrams for architecture and feature requirement documents that clearly and deeper define the PoL operation, Polyfunctionality and PoL pin operation/impedances.
- Specify the MOSFET’s, the POL control method, the external components (L’s and C’s) and packaging technology requirements for POL.
- Define creative new product concepts to solve customer technical problems and create SIMPLIS simulation models to validate concepts.
- Act as a trusted technical customer interface during current product developments for a successful design-in to design-win.
- Work with Field Applications Engineering (FAE) teams,



System Architects and Applications Marketing in defining right-fit product requirements addressing customer requirements.
- Develop Go-2-market collaterals (such as datasheets, models, application notes, presentations, fighting guides)
- Provide advance technical training to regional FAEs on how to use Infineon components to enhance value of end-Customer’s products.
- Benchmarking of competitor’s products and generation of promotional material and collaterals (test reports, application notes, white papers) for product promotion.
- Travel of approximately 20% of the time locally in the Bangalore area to provide on-site customer technical support and 10% travel internationally.
- Bench testing to validate feasibility

Your profile

Qualifications and skills to help you succeed
- Education: BSEE or MSEE preferred Experience: 6-12 years of hands-on experience in high frequency, high current, high-density DC/DC designs. Specific or Entrepreneurial Knowledge:
- Comprehensive knowledge of basic power supply topologies [Buck, Boost, Buck-Boost] and control system design with lab skills to test and debug of switch mode power supplies
- Experience in selection of MOSFET’s, Gate Drivers, Capacitors, Inductors and use of these components in POL design and applications.
- Able to collaborate with all functions in the organization from Marketing, FAE’s and sales,



to IC design and product development AE’s tonsure successful product development.
- IC block level modelling experience with Simplis/PSpice
- Intimate knowledge of various regulator architectures.
- Experience in using digital controllers & power stages for power management applications IFX Behaviors:
- Effectively multi-task, manage priorities and solve technical problems independently
- Highly motivated, energetic and enthusiastic
- Strong communication skills in verbal & written English and work effectively in a team environment
- Good at developing relationships with internal and external engineering community
