Job Purpose:

- The Senior Recruitment Adviser will be part of a team providing on-the-ground representation for the University of Waikato in India. The role will contribute to the development and implementation of Waikato’s recruitment strategy for India, through attendance at student recruitment events, training and supporting recruitment agents, supporting prospective / current applicants and developing relationships with education agents and other University partners. Please note the position-holder will be based in Delhi, India.
- The Senior Recruitment Adviser must be fluent in English, a skilled communicator and will be expected to travel independently and extensively within the region, including at weekends and outside of normal office hours.

Key Responsibilities:

o Represent the University in a professional manner at recruitment events, education exhibitions, presentations and briefings.

o Provide advice and guidance to prospective applicants on their study options at Waikato. Assist students in applying to the University.

o Support prospective students throughout the application and enrolment process.

o Improve student conversion rates by participating in offer conversion activity.

o Train and performance-manage selected University representatives (education agents) in India.

o Develop, maintain and share knowledge of current market conditions/trends.

o Support appropriate business development opportunities (including trans-national opportunities) that will contribute to the University’s internationalisation goals.

o Maintain an accurate, up-to-date knowledge of education policies, funding sources (where relevant),



training opportunities and scholarships relevant to the region.

o Support the activities of the University of Waikato College.

o Work closely with stakeholders, both within and outside the University, to improve information and the services provided to international applicants.

o Assist with in-country visits by senior staff to support the University’s regional engagement strategy.

o Engage with alumni to build the University’s profile in the region, to support student recruitment and conversion activities, and to build business development opportunities.

o Ensure all data is processed in a sensitive and confidential manner, in accordance with the University’s Personal Information and Privacy Policy.

o Participate in the maintenance of a safe and healthy work workplace as appropriate to the position.

Geographical Scope

- The role will include regular interaction with a variety of stakeholders in India and New Zealand.
- The position-holder will be expected to travel extensively and for long periods within India as part of the role, although all reasonable expenses will be covered. Travel to New Zealand and other countries may also be required.

Qualifications & Training

Essential

· An undergraduate degree.

Preferred

· Experience of studying in New Zealand.





· Graduate of the University of Waikato or another NZ university.

· A qualification in a business-related discipline.

Experience Required:

Essential

· Knowledge of the India tertiary education market and international education.

· Sales and/or marketing experience.

· Competency in ICT, including knowledge of the Microsoft 365 suite.

· Experience of international travel.

· Written and oral fluency in English.

Preferred

· Knowledge of the NZ tertiary education sector.

Personal qualities:

- Flexible and adaptable (note the post-holder will be expected to travel extensively throughout the region, sometimes working away from home for extended periods and attending events at weekends/outside of normal working hours).
- The ability to operate independently with minimal supervision and guidance.
- Ability to communicate with a variety of people at different levels in a variety of organisations and situations.
- Strong relationship-management skills.
