We are seeking a Senior UX/UI Designer with deep expertise in design systems, Figma, and scalable enterprise platforms to help build and evolve a best-in-class design system that powers consistent, accessible, and future-ready digital experiences.
As part of a high-impact strategic initiative, ExxonMobil is consolidating four distinct design systems into a single, unified global system. This role will play a critical part in defining, designing, and scaling that unified system; establishing a cohesive, enterprise-wide foundation that enables consistency, efficiency, and innovation across products, regions, and business units.
In addition to design system work, this role will also contribute to broader UX/UI design efforts, supporting product teams with high-quality interface design, interaction patterns, and visual assets.
Key Responsibilities
Enterprise Design System Transformation

- Audit, evaluate, and rationalize existing components, patterns, and tokens across systems
- Identify redundancies and define standardized, scalable solutions
- Establish a governance model to support long-term system health and contributions across teams
- Support migration strategies and adoption across multiple product teams and regions
Design System Strategy & Implementation
- Design and evolve a centralized enterprise design system in Figma
- Define design principles, system architecture, and contribution workflows
- Build and maintain scalable UI component libraries, patterns, and templates
- Establish token-based design foundations (color, typography, spacing, motion, etc.)
- Ensure system supports multi-brand, multi-platform, and global scalability
Product UX/UI Design & Execution
- Design high-fidelity page mockups, workflows, and end-to-end user experiences
- Contribute to website redesigns and application interface improvements
- Create and maintain iconography, visual assets, and micro-interactions
- Develop interaction designs, prototypes, and animations to communicate behaviors and flows
- Apply the design system to real product scenarios, ensuring usability and consistency
- Balance system thinking with creative problem solving for unique product needs
Figma Expertise & Operational Excellence
- Leverage advanced Figma capabilities, including:
- Variables and design tokens
- Auto Layout and responsive components
- Component variants and nested systems
- Shared libraries and branching workflows
- Optimize for design-to-code handoff with engineering teams (e.g., Storybook alignment, dev-ready specs, MCP, code connect)
- Maintain clear, scalable documentation and usage guidelines
AI-Ready & Future-Focused Design
- Design with emerging AI-assisted workflows in mind (e.g., generative UI, design automation, Figma Make)
- Define patterns that support adaptive, personalized, and agile interfaces
- Explore integration of AI tools into design workflows (e.g., content generation, pattern suggestions, accessibility automation)
- Future-proof components for scalability, flexibility, and automation
Cross-Functional Collaboration
- Partner closely with product managers, engineers, and accessibility experts
- Align design system with front-end architecture and development standards (e.g., agnostic component code, headless CMS architecture)
- Enable adoption through training, evangelism, and documentation
- Support teams in applying system standards to real-world use cases during and after consolidation
Accessibility & Best Practices
- Ensure compliance with WCAG accessibility standards
- Champion inclusive design principles
- Apply modern UX best practices including:
- Usability and clarity
- Consistency and predictability
- Performance-aware design
- Responsive and adaptive design patterns
Required Qualifications

- Strong understanding of:
- Design tokens and system architecture
- Component-driven design
- Responsive and adaptive layouts
- Experience working with cross-functional product and engineering teams
- Excellent communication, facilitation, and documentation skills
Preferred Qualifications

- HTML, CSS, and modern JavaScript
- Component-based frameworks (React, Angular, Vue)
- Design-to-code workflows and collaboration with engineering teams
- Experience aligning design systems with Storybook or similar component libraries
- Experience with Zeroheight or other documentation platforms
- Exposure to AI-powered design tools and workflows
- Experience with global or multi-brand design systems
