About the Role

We are looking for an experienced Senior Microsoft Fabric & Azure Data Engineer to design, develop, and deliver enterprise-scale data engineering and analytics solutions using Microsoft Fabric, Azure, and modern data platforms. The ideal candidate will have strong hands-on experience building data ingestion, transformation, orchestration, lakehouse, data warehouse, and real-time data solutions. You will work across complex data engineering initiatives and collaborate with teams across multiple functions and geographies.

Key Responsibilities

- Design and develop scalable data engineering solutions using Microsoft Fabric and Azure.
- Build enterprise data pipelines for batch and real-time data processing.
- Develop data ingestion and integration solutions from SaaS, on-premises, PaaS, SharePoint, APIs, and multiple file formats.
- Design and implement Lakehouse, Data Warehouse, and Data Lake architectures.
- Develop data transformation and orchestration workflows using Fabric and Azure services.
- Build real-time data solutions using Eventstream, Eventhouse, Spark Structured Streaming, and KQL.
- Develop solutions using Python, PySpark, Spark SQL, and KQL.
- Implement dimensional data models using Kimball methodology and Star Schema.
- Optimize data pipelines, Spark workloads, and ingestion processes for performance and cost.
- Implement CI/CD and source-control practices using Azure DevOps and GitHub.
- Support Microsoft Fabric workspace, security, governance, and capacity management.
- Develop and maintain technical architecture and design documentation.
- Collaborate with architects, developers, analysts, QA teams, and business stakeholders.
- Contribute to Agile/Waterfall delivery, estimation, planning, and technical decision-making.
- Stay current with emerging technologies including Machine Learning and Agentic AI.

Data Engineering: Python, PySpark, Spark SQL, KQL, Advanced SQL, data ingestion and integration, data transformation and orchestration, lakehouse architecture, data warehousing, dimensional modeling / Star Schema.

DevOps & Governance: Azure DevOps, GitHub / Git, CI/CD, Fabric workspace administration, OneLake Security, SQL Security, Fabric governance, capacity and workload management.

Business Intelligence: Good understanding of Power BI and analytical workloads.

Required Qualifications

- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Software Engineering, or equivalent practical experience.
- 5+ years of overall enterprise data engineering experience, with strong recent hands-on experience delivering solutions using Microsoft Fabric and Azure.
- Strong hands-on experience with Microsoft Fabric and Azure analytics services.
- Robust understanding of data engineering architecture and best practices.
- Experience designing and implementing end-to-end real-time data solutions.
- Experience optimizing data ingestion and processing pipelines.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work effectively across complex, interdependent projects and geographically distributed teams.
