9 Star Broking is a SEBI-registered stock broking firm building out an in-house technology function. We're growing from a vendor-dependent setup — trading, mutual funds, and back-office all built and hosted by third parties — into a company with real engineering ownership of the products our clients use every day.

The Role

We're hiring a Senior/Lead Frontend Engineer to be the technical anchor for frontend at 9 Star — not just for one build, but for the frontend function as it grows. You'll own architecture decisions across our mobile (React Native) and web (Next.js/React) surfaces, set the standards and patterns the rest of the team builds on, and be the person who shapes how we approach frontend work as recent projects come up.

This is a hands-on lead role: you'll be writing code, not just reviewing it, while also mentoring engineers who join under you and making the architectural calls — state management, design system strategy, how mobile and web share logic — that outlast any single project.

What We're Looking For

- 6+ years of frontend engineering experience, with real production ownership of at least one complex, data-dense application (fintech, trading, e-commerce, or similar — bonus points if it involved real-time data)
- Strong React Native experience — you've shipped and maintained a React Native app at scale, and understand the real performance tradeoffs (list virtualization, re-render discipline, native module boundaries),

- Strong React/Next.js experience for web
- Comfort owning architecture decisions and setting technical direction, not just executing against someone else's spec
- Experience integrating with third-party/vendor APIs where you don't control the backend — comfortable designing clean abstractions around messy or inconsistent upstream data
- A track record of technical leadership — mentoring engineers, making pragmatic build-vs-perfect calls, and communicating tradeoffs clearly to non-engineering stakeholders

Nice to have

- Prior fintech, broking, or trading-platform experience
- Familiarity with Indian market data/order-management concepts (NSE/BSE, F&O;, market depth, order types)
- Experience standing up a design system from scratch
- Experience with TypeScript-first codebases end to end
