About the role

We are looking for a Senior Big Data / AI-ML Engineer, preferably with strong exposure to the Airline/Aviation domain, to support a high-impact technology initiative on a part-time, remote basis.

? Key Responsibilities

- Design, develop, and optimize large-scale data processing solutions using PySpark and Apache Spark.
- Build and maintain scalable data pipelines on AWS.
- Develop high-performance applications and data-processing components using Java.
- Write complex and optimized SQL queries for large datasets.
- Work with modern data lake/table formats such as Apache Hudi and Apache Iceberg.
- Contribute to AI/ML initiatives involving large-scale data processing and analytics.
- Design reliable and scalable data architectures for high-volume enterprise workloads.
- Troubleshoot performance, data quality, and pipeline-related issues.
- Collaborate with engineering, data, and business teams to deliver production-ready solutions.




- Apply strong engineering practices around scalability, reliability, monitoring, and data governance.

? Mandatory / Core Skills

✅ 10+ years of overall technology experience

✅ Strong hands-on PySpark / Apache Spark experience

✅ Strong AWS experience

✅ Strong Java programming experience

✅ Advanced SQL skills

✅ Experience with AI/ML concepts and implementations

✅ Hands-on experience with Apache Hudi and/or Apache Iceberg

✅ Robust Big Data / Data Engineering background

✅ Experience working with large-scale data platforms and data lakes

✅ Airline / Aviation domain experience is highly preferred
