Role Overview

We are looking for a highly analytical and commercially driven Retail Planner to join our Buying & Merchandising team. This role is critical to the success of our retail business, as it is responsible for planning inventory, optimizing stock allocation, maximizing sales, and ensuring profitability across all stores.

Key Responsibilities

- Analyse historical sales data, customer buying patterns, and market trends to forecast future demand.
- Develop seasonal merchandise and inventory plans aligned with business objectives.
- Collaborate with the Buying team to determine product assortments, quantities, pricing, and purchasing strategies.
- Coordinate with suppliers to ensure quality, delivery timelines, and adherence to agreed commercial terms.
- Plan and allocate inventory across stores to maximise sales while minimising excess stock and stock-outs.
- Monitor stock movement and recommend replenishment, inter-store transfers, markdowns, and promotional activities.
- Analyse product performance, identify best sellers, and maximise their sales potential.
- Identify slow-moving inventory and implement strategies to improve sell-through.




- Work closely with Store Managers and the Visual Merchandising team to ensure products are presented effectively.
- Monitor competitor trends, product assortments, pricing, and market performance.
- Prepare and present reports on sales, stock, Open-to-Buy (OTB), inventory cover, margins, allocation, replenishment, and store-wise performance.
- Generate daily, weekly, monthly, and seasonal business reports for senior management and directors.
- Participate in store visits and collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify opportunities for operational and commercial improvements.
- Ensure product availability by delivering the right product to the right store at the right time.

Requirements

- Graduate in Commerce, Business Administration, Retail Management, or a related discipline.
- MBA (Retail, Marketing, Supply Chain, or Operations) preferred.
- 5–10 years of experience in Retail Planning, Merchandise Planning, Inventory Planning, or Buying within the retail or fashion industry.
- Strong analytical and numerical skills with the ability to interpret business data and translate insights into action.
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and MS Office.
- Ability to work collaboratively across Buying, Merchandising, Retail Operations, and Supply Chain teams.
