About the Role
We're looking for a motivated Research Assistant Intern to support the early-stage development of a new language learning app. This is a research-focused role — you won't be writing code or designing the app, but you'll be doing the groundwork that shapes it. The founder will walk you through the product vision, target users, and goals, and you'll be responsible for researching and reporting back findings.
Responsibilities
Conduct market research on existing language learning apps (features, pricing, user reviews, gaps in the market)
Research language acquisition methods and learning science that could inform app design
Gather insights on target user demographics and their pain points with current tools
Summarize findings into clear, organized reports or presentations
Assist with competitor analysis and identifying opportunities for differentiation
Support ad-hoc research tasks as the project evolves
Requirements
Strong research and analytical skills
Comfortable working independently with minimal supervision
Valuable written communication for summarizing findings
Interest in ed-tech, language learning, or startups (preferred, not required)
Access to a laptop/internet for remote work
Currently pursuing or recently completed a degree (any relevant field welcome)
What You'll Gain
Direct mentorship from the founder and real insight into how a startup idea gets built from scratch
Hands-on experience in product research and market validation A letter of recommendation / experience certificate upon completion
Flexible, remote working hours
