Role Description: We are looking for a dynamic and confident Reporter cum Camera Operator to cover breaking news, events, and on-ground stories across Bangalore, Karnataka. The ideal candidate should possess robust reporting skills, excellent communication abilities.

The Reporter will collaborate with editors and other team members to ensure accurate, timely, and engaging coverage for digital and video formats. The role also involves maintaining strong local contacts, monitoring breaking news, and contributing to live or recorded content as required.

Responsibilities:

- Cover breaking news, political, social, crime, business, entertainment, and public interest stories.
- Conduct on-ground reporting and live news coverage.
- Gather facts, verify information, and interview relevant sources.
- Candidates should possess Multimedia skills, including familiarity with basic video shooting, mobile journalism tools, and working with digital platforms.




- Prior experience in field reporting, especially in local or regional news, and knowledge of current affairs at the state and national level is an advantage.
- Ability to work under deadlines, maintain ethical standards, verify information rigorously, and collaborate effectively with editorial and production teams.
- Ensure all reports comply with journalistic ethics and editorial guidelines.
- Coordinate with the central news desk to upload or stream raw footage, audio feeds, and filed reports under tight deadlines.

Required Skills

- Excellent verbal reporting skills and strong command over the local language (plus English/Hindi as required by the news desk).
- Strong news sense and ability to identify impactful stories.
- Confident camera presence and live reporting skills.
- Good interviewing and communication abilities.
- Ability to work under tight deadlines and pressure.
- Familiarity with digital news platforms and social media reporting.
- Basic knowledge of mobile journalism (MoJo).

Qualification & Experience

- Bachelor's degree in Journalism, Mass Communication, Media Studies, or a related field is preferred.
- 1–3 years of experience as a Field Reporter

Requirements

- Must own a two-wheeler or four-wheeler with a valid driving license.
- Willingness to travel extensively across Bangalore, Karnataka.
- Flexible to work in rotational shifts, weekends, and during breaking news situations.
- Strong professional ethics and commitment to factual reporting.
- Existing network of local contacts and sources.
