Business: Alternative Investment Fund

Location: Mumbai

Role: Quantitative Technology & Trading

Key Responsibilities:

- Quantitative Research & Back testing

- Use Python to analyse historical stock market and derivatives data.
- Build, test, and improve trading and investment strategies using the firm’s existing market price database.
- Develop back testing frameworks to evaluate strategy performance, including returns, drawdowns, risk metrics, and other relevant parameters.
- Work closely with the investment and trading team to translate trading ideas into testable quantitative strategies.

- MIS Automation & Data Analytics

- Automate daily, weekly, and monthly MIS and reporting processes using Python and other relevant tools.
- Build dashboards for monitoring portfolio performance, positions, exposures, P&L;, risk metrics, and other business requirements.
- Improve existing reporting processes by reducing manual intervention and increasing accuracy and efficiency.
- Work with multiple data sources and databases to create reliable and automated data pipelines.

- Trading & Order Execution Automation

- Develop and maintain systems for automated or semi-automated order execution.
- Write and manage code for firing orders through broker and exchange APIs.
- Build appropriate checks, validations, logging, and monitoring mechanisms around order execution.
- Assist in improving the reliability and efficiency of the firm’s trading infrastructure.

- Dashboard Development & Maintenance

- Develop, maintain, and enhance internal dashboards and front-end interfaces.
- Understand and work with existing front-end scripts and codebases.
- Troubleshoot, modify, and improve dashboards already being used by the investment and trading teams.




- Work across both backend data processing and front-end visualisation.

Required Skills

- Strong working knowledge of Python, particularly for data analysis, automation, and handling large datasets.
- Ability to work with historical market data and build back testing frameworks.
- Experience with libraries such as pandas, NumPy, and other relevant Python tools.
- Understanding of databases and the ability to query and work with structured market data.
- Experience in automating reports, MIS, and data workflows.
- Familiarity with APIs and the ability to write code for API-based order execution.
- Ability to understand, maintain, and modify existing front-end code and dashboards.
- Strong problem-solving ability and willingness to work on real-world trading and technology challenges.

Preferred Skills The following would be an advantage, though they are not mandatory:

- Knowledge of financial markets, particularly equities, derivatives, or algorithmic trading.
- Experience with broker or trading APIs.
- Familiarity with SQL and databases.
- Experience with dashboarding tools or web technologies such as JavaScript, HTML, CSS, Streamlit, Dash, or similar frameworks.
- Understanding of portfolio analytics, P&L;, risk metrics, or trading strategy evaluation.
