Role Description The Purchase Manager is a full-time, on-site position based in Coimbatore, Tamil Nadu. The Purchase Manager will be responsible for managing end-to-end procurement activities for laboratory reagents, consumables, equipment, and general supplies to ensure timely availability, quality, cost efficiency, and uninterrupted laboratory operations.

The role involves reviewing purchase requirements, stock levels, consumption patterns, and operational needs; processing purchase orders; coordinating with vendors and internal departments; and ensuring timely delivery of materials. The Purchase Manager will also be responsible for maintaining optimum inventory and buffer stock, implementing FEFO practices, monitoring material expiry, and verifying received materials against purchase orders and GRNs.

The position requires close collaboration with finance, laboratory, operations, and other internal teams to align procurement decisions with operational requirements and budgets. The Purchase Manager will evaluate vendor performance, negotiate pricing and commercial terms, monitor supplier quality and delivery timelines, and identify opportunities for cost optimization,



including initiatives to improve Cost Per Reportable Test (CPRT).

The role also includes maintaining accurate procurement and inventory records, developing and implementing procurement and inventory SOPs, monitoring market and supplier trends, and ensuring all purchasing activities comply with company policies, procedures, quality standards, and applicable requirements.

Qualifications

· M.Sc. or Ph.D. in Biochemistry is mandatory.

· 3–4 years of relevant experience in procurement, purchasing, or supply chain management.

· Prior experience in healthcare, diagnostic laboratories, biotechnology, or a laboratory-focused environment is preferred.

· Strong knowledge of laboratory reagents, consumables, equipment, inventory control, and procurement processes.

· Demonstrated experience in vendor identification, evaluation, negotiation, and relationship management.

· Experience in inventory planning, stock optimization, buffer stock management, and FEFO practices.

· Proficiency in ERP or procurement management systems and standard office productivity tools.

· Strong analytical, organizational, negotiation, and problem-solving skills with attention to detail and accuracy.

· Ability to monitor supplier performance, pricing, quality, and delivery timelines.

· Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to collaborate effectively across departments.

· Ability to work on-site in a fast-paced environment, manage multiple priorities, and meet deadlines with minimal supervision.

· Strong understanding of procurement documentation, including Purchase Orders, Goods Receipt Notes (GRNs), invoices, and vendor records.

· A proactive, accountable, and results-oriented approach to procurement and inventory management.

· Strong focus on achieving the Right Material, Right Quantity, Right Quality, Right Time, and Right Cost.
