Job Summary

We are looking for a proactive and detail-oriented Purchase Executive to manage procurement activities related to Active Pharmaceutical Ingredients (APIs), raw materials, and other required materials. The candidate will be responsible for vendor coordination, purchase planning, price negotiation, order processing, and ensuring timely availability of materials as per business requirements.

Key Responsibilities

- Manage end-to-end procurement of APIs, raw materials, and related pharmaceutical materials.
- Identify, evaluate, and develop reliable suppliers/vendors.
- Coordinate with vendors for quotations, pricing, availability, lead time, and delivery schedules.
- Negotiate prices, payment terms, delivery timelines, and other commercial terms.
- Prepare and process Purchase Orders (POs) as per approved requirements.
- Coordinate with Quality, Production, R&D;, Regulatory, Warehouse, and Finance teams for procurement-related requirements.
- Maintain proper purchase records, vendor documents, quotations, and commercial data.
- Track market trends, API prices, availability, and supplier performance.




- Follow company procurement policies, quality requirements, and applicable pharmaceutical regulations.
- Handle vendor follow-ups and resolve issues related to quality, quantity, delivery, and documentation.
- Support cost-saving initiatives and alternate vendor development.
- Maintain and update vendor databases and procurement MIS/reports.

Required Qualifications

- Bachelor's degree in Pharmacy, Supply Chain, Procurement, or a related field.
- 25 years of relevant experience in pharmaceutical/API procurement or purchase.
- Good understanding of API/raw material procurement and pharmaceutical supply chain.
- Solid negotiation and vendor management skills.
- Good knowledge of MS Excel and ERP/SAP-based procurement processes.
- Strong communication, coordination, analytical, and follow-up skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced pharmaceutical environment.
