About the role
We are hiring a Program Officer to support the implementation of our Schools Program in 2 districts (Chitradurga, Chikkamagaluru) of Karnataka, Chitradurga being the base location. This role will focus on effective program delivery, mentoring master trainers and teachers, facilitating student-led innovation events like Ideathons and Hackathons, managing district-level stakeholder engagement and has team management skills. The ideal candidate will bring experience in teaching, solid training and communication skills, and a deep understanding of working with government systems and education programs.
- Hands-on with the Sector/Module Content and Learning Outcomes
· Build a strong understanding of the Schools Program, Ideathon and Hackathon process, chatbot milestones, sector/module content, and expected learning outcomes for 8th-10th grade students. · Support Master Trainers (MTs) and teachers across Chitradurga and Chikkamagalur districts to understand and implement the content effectively in Karnataka Residential Educational Institutions Society (KREIS) schools.
· Mentor and support MTs and teachers in planning and executing Ideathon and Hackathon activities with students.
· Support school-level Hackathons by helping students identify problem statements, develop solutions, and build prototypes through teacher and MT engagement.
· Ensure chatbot content, milestones, and learning activities are understood and completed correctly by MTs, teachers, and students.
· Identify learning gaps, best practices, and implementation challenges related to content delivery and share them with the program team for action.
- Timely and Effective Delivery of Sessions
· Responsible for timely and effective program delivery through the Master Trainer cascade model across the assigned three districts - Chitradurga & Chikkamagaluru with Chitradurga as the base location. · Coordinate with the Program Coordinator, Learning Experience Officer, and Master Trainers to plan and execute cascade trainings at block and district levels.
· Be present and actively support in-person trainings at block and district levels.
· Support Master Trainers to plan, design, and deliver sessions effectively as per program timelines and quality expectations.
· Ensure MTs and teachers conduct Ideathon and Hackathon sessions with 8th-10th grade students as per the agreed implementation plan.
· Organise and co-facilitate school-level Hackathons and district-level share-out events for students and teachers to showcase their work.
· Conduct regular phone calls and school visits to observe classroom engagement and provide on-ground support to MTs and teachers.
· Organise and facilitate bi-monthly catch-up calls with Master Trainers to review post-training engagement, achievements, challenges, and next steps.
- Relationship Management - Students, Internal Team and Team Management
· Build strong working relationships with students, Master Trainers, teachers, school heads, district government officials,
and the internal program team to ensure smooth implementation of the Schools Program. · Act as the focal point for MTs, teachers, and school heads in assigned schools and keep them informed about program progress, plans, timelines, and deliverables.
· Work closely with the internal team to align on district-level planning, school visits, trainings, reviews, documentation, and follow-up actions.
· Participate in program team meetings, block-level and district-level reviews, and planning discussions as required.
· Coordinate with team members and assigned stakeholders to ensure responsibilities, timelines, and follow-up actions are clearly tracked and completed.
· Design and facilitate CoP and WhatsApp engagement plans to nudge, clarify doubts, and share reflections on Ideathon and Hackathon content and process with MTs and teachers.
· Facilitate and document quarterly MT catch-ups with the District and DIET Department to share field updates, implementation shifts, and impact.
- Reporting, M&E; and Data Management
· Support the M&E; team in implementing monitoring tools as per the project framework. · Maintain accurate data and documentation related to cascade trainings, school visits, meetings, events, MT engagement, teacher engagement, student engagement, chatbot completion, and milestone progress.
· Compile field-level reports and data as per the framework and submit them within agreed timelines.
· Regularly check dashboard data to ensure it is updated, error-free, and aligned with M&E; requirements.
· Report dashboard issues, chatbot glitches, and technical challenges related to content or data, and follow up with the Ed-Tech team for resolution.
· Provide regular written and verbal reports tracking progress against the work plan and implementation schedules.
· Document and share best practices from schools for monthly and quarterly reports.
· Support documentation of trainings, meetings, school visits, events, Hackathons, share-out events, and review meetings.
· Support the coordination of baseline, endline, and other assessments as required.
· Document and design follow-up plans for selected learners who need deeper intervention and support for transition into higher education.
· Ensure M&E; adherence, data quality, and timely reporting across all assigned schools and districts.
- Adherence to Systems and Processes
· Ensure adherence to organizational systems, processes, timelines, and reporting protocols. · Follow all finance, HR, travel, procurement, and operational policies of Quest Alliance.
· Ensure people and financial policies and procedures are followed during program implementation.
· Participate in team meetings, reviews, and staff engagement activities.
· Maintain proper documentation for trainings, meetings, events, travel, field visits, and program activities.
· Uphold the values and professional standards of Quest Alliance while working with schools, government stakeholders, students, teachers, MTs, and internal teams.
- Learning & Growth Goals
· Identify development needs based on role requirements, review feedback, 360-degree feedback, and personal growth goals. · Create a clear self-learning and development goal for the year with timeline, mode of learning, and support required.
· Take ownership of tracking progress against learning goals and completing agreed self-learning goals within the planned timeline.
· Actively seek support, mentoring, and feedback from the reporting manager, program team, and relevant internal stakeholders.
· Apply new learning to improve program delivery, stakeholder engagement, M&E; quality, data management, reporting, team management, and field implementation.
Requirements
Required Skills and Experience
· 1–2 years’
experience in teaching, mentoring, or education program delivery
· Proven experience working with government stakeholders
· Strong skills in training delivery, communication, and report writing
· Willingness to travel frequently within districts
· Fluency in Kannada (spoken and written)
· Brownie Points: Prior exposure to or interest in STEM mindset, computational thinking or critical thinking approaches in education
Salary: The pay band for the position starts at Rs. 37,000/- per month (cost to company) (The salary offered will be commensurate with the experience and expertise of the candidate)
