Responsibilities
Conduct thorough patient evaluations, including detailed medical history reviews and comprehensive eye examinations.
Diagnose and manage a wide range of ocular diseases, including cataracts, glaucoma, diabetic retinopathy, macular degeneration, and refractive errors.
Perform ophthalmic surgeries such as cataract extraction with intraocular lens implantation, corneal procedures, and glaucoma surgeries.
Utilize advanced diagnostic tools including optical coherence tomography (OCT), visual field analyzers, and retinal imaging systems.
Develop individualized treatment plans and provide follow-up care to monitor patient progress and outcomes.
Collaborate with optometrists, nurses, and other specialists to ensure coordinated, holistic patient care.
Maintain accurate and timely medical records in compliance with hospital and regulatory standards.
Participate in clinical audits, quality improvement initiatives, and continuing medical education programs.
Contribute to community eye health awareness campaigns and preventive screening programs.
Stay current with emerging treatments, technologies, and best practices in ophthalmology through ongoing career development.

Requirements
MBBS degree followed by a postgraduate qualification in Ophthalmology (D.O. or DNB in Ophthalmology).
Valid registration with the National Medical Commission (NMC) and state medical council.
Minimum of 2 years of post-qualification clinical experience in a hospital or specialized eye care setting.
Proficiency in performing routine and complex ophthalmic surgeries with a proven track record of successful outcomes.
Strong diagnostic and clinical decision-making skills with attention to detail and patient safety.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to build trust with patients and collaborate effectively with healthcare teams.
Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team in a rapid-paced clinical environment.
Familiarity with electronic medical record (EMR) systems and digital imaging platforms used in ophthalmology.
