Responsibilities
Conduct comprehensive eye examinations and patient assessments to diagnose and manage general ophthalmic conditions.
Perform routine and specialized eye tests, including visual acuity, tonometry, slit-lamp biomicroscopy, and fundoscopy.
Interpret diagnostic imaging and test results (e.g., OCT, visual field testing, retinal photography) in collaboration with senior physicians.
Develop individualized treatment plans for patients, including prescribing medications, recommending corrective lenses, and coordinating referrals.
Assist in pre- and post-operative care for patients undergoing cataract and other ophthalmic surgeries.
Maintain accurate, up-to-date medical records in compliance with hospital and regulatory standards.
Collaborate with multidisciplinary healthcare teams, including optometrists, nurses, and specialists, to ensure holistic patient care.
Participate in clinical audits, quality improvement initiatives,



and hospital-wide educational sessions.
Adhere to infection control protocols, patient safety guidelines, and ethical standards in all clinical interactions.

Requirements
MBBS degree with a recognized postgraduate qualification in Ophthalmology (MD/MS in Ophthalmology) or equivalent.
Valid registration with the National Medical Commission (NMC) and state medical council.
Demonstrated ability to manage general ophthalmology cases under the supervision of senior consultants.
Proficiency in using diagnostic equipment such as slit lamps, tonometers, and retinal imaging systems.
Solid clinical reasoning, attention to detail, and excellent communication skills with patients and colleagues.
Commitment to continuous learning and professional development in ophthalmic medicine and surgery.
Ability to work effectively in a quick-paced hospital workplace with minimal supervision during routine tasks.
Familiarity with electronic medical records (EMR) systems and hospital information management tools.
