Position Overview
Reporting to: General Manager
Location: The Sarayu in Ayodhya The Operations Manager will be responsible for the overall operations and member experience of Sarayu Club, ensuring luxury service standards, operational excellence, facility readiness and seamless delivery across all Club functions. The role will oversee all operational areas including Food & Beverage, club facilities, recreation, fitness and wellness,
events, housekeeping, member services and other amenities assigned to the Club. The incumbent will work closely with Club leadership, support functions and operational departments to deliver exceptional member experiences while achieving revenue, profitability, cost, service quality, manpower productivity and compliance objectives in alignment with The Leela standards.
Responsibilities
Club Operations Management
- Responsible for the overall day-to-day operations of Sarayu Club under the operating standards and philosophy of The Leela.
- Direct and supervise the day-to-day operations of the Club.
- Plan, coordinate and supervise daily Club operations.
- Conduct daily briefings, operational reviews and facility inspections.
- Ensure all facilities are fully operational, clean, safe and guest-ready before opening.
- Monitor inventory, consumables, equipment and operational supplies.
- Review daily operational, revenue, cost and incident reports.
- Overall operational performance of Sarayu Club.
- Revenue achievement, cost management and profitability performance.
- Food Cost and Beverage Cost remaining within approved budget parameters.
- Member satisfaction and service recovery effectiveness.
- Guest satisfaction index and online reputation scores.
- Manpower productivity, employee discipline, grooming, training and performance.
- Protection of Club assets, equipment, inventory and overall physical presentation
Food & Beverage and Facility Management
- Supervise F&B; operations and ensure food quality, service standards, hygiene and presentation.
- Oversee fitness, wellness, recreational and other Club facilities as applicable.
- Coordinate member events, celebrations, activities and private functions.
- Coordinate preventive maintenance and facility upkeep with Engineering and other departments.
- Recommend changes to services, facilities and member engagement initiatives.
People Leadership & Team Development
- Lead the Club team in creating a strong culture of anticipatory service, ownership and genuine care.
- Allocate manpower and operational resources according to business requirements and member traffic.
- Conduct regular team coaching and on-the-job training.
- Deploy and redeploy team members based on operational priorities.
- Coach employees and initiate corrective action for service deficiencies.
- Recommend manpower,
training and disciplinary action to the appropriate authority
Compliance, Safety & Operational Control
- Enforce grooming, hygiene, service, safety and operational standards.
- Ensure compliance with SOPs, statutory regulations, fire & life safety, food safety, hygiene and security standards.
- Suspend or restrict an activity or facility temporarily where there is an immediate safety, hygiene, security or compliance risk.
- Escalate critical member, safety, security or operational matters directly to the Club leadership.
- Identify operational gaps and implement corrective and preventive actions.
- Initiate continuous-improvement initiatives within the approved operational framework.
Financial & Business Performance
- Responsible for overall operational standards within approved budgets and policies.
- Drive revenue growth, profitability and cost optimization across Club operations.
- Monitor operational performance through revenue, cost and service indicators.
- Recommend procurement and operational improvements to the appropriate authority.
Qualifications
Education
- Bachelor's Degree in Hotel Management, Hospitality Management, Business Administration or a related discipline.
- Postgraduate qualification in Hospitality, Operations Management or Business Administration will be advantageous.
Experience
- Significant experience in luxury hospitality, clubs, resorts, hotels or premium lifestyle environments.
- Proven experience leading multi-functional operations including F&B;, guest services, facilities and events.
- Demonstrated success in managing profitability, service delivery, manpower productivity and guest satisfaction.
- Experience in leading large operational teams and driving service excellence.
