Job Summary

We are looking for an experienced Opcenter Solution Architect with 8-10+ years of experience in MES/MOM solutions, with strong expertise in Siemens Opcenter. The ideal candidate will be responsible for defining end-to-end MES solution architecture, translating business requirements into scalable technical solutions, leading implementation teams, and working closely with customers and stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities

- Own the end-to-end solution architecture for Siemens Opcenter MES implementations.
- Lead architecture, design, and technical decision-making across MES projects.
- Understand customer manufacturing processes, business requirements, and digital transformation objectives.
- Translate business requirements into scalable and sustainable Opcenter-based solutions.
- Define solution architecture, application architecture, integration architecture, and deployment architecture.
- Lead requirements workshops and architecture discussions with customers and business stakeholders.
- Evaluate existing manufacturing systems and recommend appropriate MES solutions.
- Define integration strategies between Opcenter, ERP, PLM, automation, SCADA, IIoT, and other enterprise systems.
- Provide technical leadership throughout requirements, design, development, testing, deployment, and go-live.
- Review and approve functional and technical designs prepared by implementation teams.
- Establish architecture standards, development guidelines, and best practices.
- Identify technical risks, dependencies, and potential gaps and provide appropriate mitigation strategies.
- Guide development and implementation teams on Opcenter configuration, customization, and integration.
- Support estimation, effort planning, solution proposals, and technical responses to RFPs/RFIs when required.
- Participate in customer presentations, technical workshops, demonstrations, and solution reviews.
- Lead technical discussions during implementation, commissioning, go-live, and hypercare phases.
- Mentor and provide technical guidance to Opcenter consultants and engineers.
- Ensure solutions comply with customer standards, security requirements, performance expectations, and industry best practices.
- Coordinate with onsite and offshore teams to ensure successful project delivery.

Required Technical Skills




- 8-10+ years of experience in MES/MOM, manufacturing IT, or digital manufacturing solutions.
- Strong hands-on and architectural experience with Siemens Opcenter.
- Strong understanding of Opcenter architecture, modules, configuration, customization, and deployment.
- Experience with one or more of the following Opcenter areas:

- Opcenter Execution

- Opcenter APS

- Opcenter Quality

- Opcenter Intelligence
- Opcenter RD&L;
- Opcenter Advanced Planning and Scheduling
- Strong understanding of MES/MOM architecture and manufacturing processes.
- Experience designing and implementing complex MES solutions for manufacturing environments.
- Strong knowledge of MES integration with ERP and PLM systems.
- Experience integrating Opcenter with systems such as:

- SAP / ERP

- Siemens Teamcenter

- SCADA

- PLC/Automation systems

- Historian systems

- IIoT platforms

- Quality systems
- Strong understanding of APIs, web services, REST/SOAP, XML/JSON, and enterprise integration patterns.
- Valuable knowledge of SQL and relational databases.
- Understanding of cloud, infrastructure, networking, security, and deployment considerations for enterprise MES solutions.
- Experience in system performance, scalability, high availability, and disaster recovery considerations is preferred.

Manufacturing Domain Expertise The candidate should have a strong understanding of manufacturing processes, including:
- Production planning and execution
- Production orders
- BOM and routing
- Material management and traceability
- Work instructions
- WIP tracking
- Genealogy and serialization
- Quality management
- Non-conformance management
- Production reporting and KPIs
- Equipment and resource management
- Shop-floor data collection
- Maintenance integration

Experience in Automotive, Aerospace, Industrial Manufacturing, Oil & Gas, Electronics, or other complex manufacturing environments will be an advantage. Solution Architecture Responsibilities The architect will be expected to:




- Define the To-Be MES architecture based on customer requirements.
- Develop high-level and low-level solution architecture documents.
- Define application and system interfaces.
- Establish integration and data-flow architecture.
- Identify appropriate Opcenter modules and determine where customization or extensions are required.
- Define deployment topology across development, test, staging, and production environments.
- Ensure the proposed architecture is scalable, maintainable, secure, and aligned with customer IT standards.
- Review technical feasibility and identify gaps between standard Opcenter capabilities and customer requirements.
- Recommend standard configuration versus customization based on business and technical considerations.
- Define technical standards and governance for implementation teams.

Customer & Consulting Skills
- Strong experience working directly with customers and business stakeholders.
- Ability to conduct discovery workshops and convert business requirements into technical solutions.
- Excellent presentation and communication skills.
- Ability to explain complex technical concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Strong consulting, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to manage technical discussions with multiple stakeholders across business and IT teams.

Leadership Responsibilities
- Lead and mentor Opcenter implementation teams.
- Provide technical direction to developers, consultants, and integration engineers.
- Review solution designs, technical deliverables, and implementation approaches.
- Support project managers with technical planning, risks, dependencies, and estimates.
- Ensure adherence to architecture and development standards.
- Act as the primary technical escalation point for complex MES issues.

Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, Electronics, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field.
- Siemens Opcenter certification or relevant Siemens certifications will be an advantage.
- Prior experience as an MES Solution Architect / Technical Architect / Opcenter Architect.
- Experience delivering large-scale international MES transformation projects.
- Experience working with distributed onsite/offshore delivery teams.
