Role Description This is a full-time, on-site Occupational Therapist role based in Thrissur at IAN Institute of Rehabilitation & Research.
The Occupational
Therapist will assess children with various developmental, physical, and neurological conditions, develop individualized treatment plans, and implement therapeutic interventions to improve daily living skills and functional independence.
Responsibilities include conducting evaluations, documenting progress, collaborating with pediatricians, rehabilitation specialists, and families, and adapting therapeutic activities and assistive devices to meet each child’s needs.
The role involves participating in multidisciplinary case discussions, providing caregiver education and training, and contributing to continuous improvement of rehabilitation programs and protocols.
Qualifications
- Candidates should possess strong skills in Occupational Therapy and Rehabilitation, including assessment, treatment planning, and intervention design.
- Candidates should possess relevant knowledge in Pediatrics and Medicine to work effectively with differently abled children and multidisciplinary clinical teams.
- Candidates should possess excellent Communication skills for interacting with children, families, and colleagues, and for clear documentation and reporting.
- Relevant educational background such as a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Occupational Therapy (or equivalent recognized qualification).
- Registration or licensure with appropriate professional bodies as required by local regulations.
- Experience working with pediatric populations with conditions such as cerebral palsy, autism, Down syndrome, and other developmental or neurological disorders is highly beneficial.
- Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively in a multidisciplinary team, with empathy, cultural sensitivity, and a robust commitment to child-centered care.
- Basic computer literacy for maintaining electronic records and coordinating with hospital information systems.
